New GT 350 (NOT the "R"!) beats the Corvette!

The new Car and Driver compares the GT 350 and a Z51 Corvette, and the Mustang wins the comparo test 202 to 200. Never thought I'd see THIS day coming!
Nice job, Ford!!!!!

I wonder how well it does against a Z06..... But as for this test, the prices are roughly the same, with the GT350 a little cheaper than the Z51. Z06 is a lot more expensive though, so it should have the upper hand even against the R.

As tested prices:

Corvette Z51................$70,830

Mustang GT350.............$56,970

So, the Mustang is really signicantly less expensive for the way they had them optioned.

You forgot the 10k dealer markup on the gt350. My dad has called numerous dealers and their all charging an extra 10k. Only one dealer dropped to 9k. It's ridiculous their marking them up like that.

First law of economics...........Supply and Demand...........

It is unfortunate that so many dealers have chosen to price them this way --- but if I owned a dealership, and my allocation for the GT 350 was............one................like most dealers are going to get, you might be lucky to get it for only $10,000 over list.

At the end of the day is just a mustang and I'll let the first owner eat the depreciation. I don't see them gaining value for 20-30 years and by then we'll have something that Flys. Lol.

And in the new Road & Track, the GT350R beats seven other cars for the 2016 Performance Car of the Year. Some of them are WAY more expensive competition. Well, . . .MSRP anyway.

A dealer in the Seattle area has a 2015 GT350. I didn't even know 2015's existed. They told me there were 135 made. The owner was offered $170k, and turned it down.

Looks like you'll never have a new GT350 or GT500, or Boss 302 if they make them again.

Have you guys seen the GT350R vs the Z28 Camaro test by Motor Trend. The Shelby won. So if the Camaro is using the same motor and driveline as the Z06 Corvette. What does that tell you?

Hmmmmmmm...........that Ford did an awesome job with both the GT 350 and the "R", but they had a REALLY good base to work with in the GT?
Really proud of Ford that their new Mustangs are kicking rear like this!!

You've got to love Ford's recent performance innovation between the GT350's, the GT, and even the RS. Comparing the prices between the GT500 when it was new to even the GT350r, the amount of advancement the 350's have made is insane. And hopefully that means that advancement finds its way back to the GT's and 4/6 cylinders in the upcoming models.

Ford needs to make that suspension available as an upgrade to the GT. Chevy has now made a magnetic suspension option for the SS.

That Z/28 wasn't a '16.

Than you wouldn't pay more than 45 k for any sports car. Ford isn't targeting you as a buyer. They are going after someone with more discretionary income.

How is that? My '14 is my fourth mustang. What 200k shelby's do you speak of. The ones from the 60's? Of so, please reread my statement. I said these may gain in value 20-30 years down the road. And I never argued the msrp. What I'm talking about is the 10k markup by the dealer. So before you get all bent out of shape slow down and actually read the comment before you freak out. And last but not least the camaro is way overpriced for what it is and I would never drive one. I hate the way they look.

Oh and you sound like one of the shelby owners who gets his feelings hurt when he finds out his car isn't the greatest thing ever. It is just a car with upgrades and someones name on it! You pay for the name.

No it's not. I don't know where you live but you can get a gt 350 for 50k. I've already priced it with a dealer. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from.

Look at the picture. I have spoken with almost every dealer in Florida and their all marked up 10k with no negotiations.

Please buy the car and show me the bill of sale. Obviously talking to you gets no where and you seem to be upset so good luck with that purchase. See ya!
