Got passed by a new GT 350 yesterday....NICE!

I was driving our new RV home from Ohio, and was W/B on I90 about 100 miles from Idaho.......saw it coming, and "something" looked different as it was approaching in the left lane.........I was only going 65 (RV, you know?) in the 80 mph (!) zone, and he was doing well over 90.
All black, stripe delete. I wish I had had time to roll the window down as he went by.....would have loved to hear that flat plane Voodoo at that speed.......but it was still GORGEOUS!
Nice to see one being driven instead of put away and hoping to double his money......

I haven't seen one on the road, or for that matter, anywhere!
It's good to hear that people are out enjoying them.

Let's see a picture of your new rig, Guard!

I've seen 2.
One at a local car show and one at my local Ford dealer that had a blown engine. (No details)

There are relatively lots of them around me too. I see them all the time I know a Virginia dealer had 7 in inventory when I was considering it.

Yes they are very nice and sound exotic. Maybe down the road a bit I may decide to get one.

Guard,

you should have been "that guy" and challenged him to a drag. A RV and a GT350 race is YouTube worthy.

Oh yeah.......a 5 cylinder diesel on tires rated for 65 mph pulling over 10,000 pounds of RV....starting with a 35 mph advantage for the GT 350............hmmmmmm.........no.
About 150 miles before I saw the GT 350, an Audi R8 also passed me at about 90+ mph.....all in all, a GREAT car day. The R8 looked "OK" in white, but there are better colors for it.......that Lambo V10 in it sure sounded good though -- even with the windows rolled up.

The GT350 is one monstrous car! You must've been very excited. And how can you not be! Look at the acceleration here!

In the early 70's my parents had a 25 ft motor home on a Dodge M-series chassis with a 413ci engine, equipped with long tubes, and the appropriate tuning. My dad used to get a kick out of beating up on the imports in between stoplights with it! Lol. The "imports", back then, mainly consisted of 40hp Volkswagen Bugs, with a few similarly underpowered Datsuns and Toyotas as well. (Honda was using an air-cooled 2 cylinder motorcycle engine in their cars)

That site says, ..."5.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour". I think they have their numbers screwed up.

2016 GT350 times
526 hp, 429 lb-ft of torque
• 4.3-second zero-to-60-mph(Car & Driver)
¼-mile: 12.5 sec @ 117 mph
• 3.9 & 4.0 sec(est.) 0-60 mph

2016 Camaro times
455 hp, 455 lb-ft of torque
• 3.9 to 4.0 sec zero to 60 mph

That was my thought as well.
It looked like the car in the video was doing a mile run, so the driver was probably not overly concerned about doing a John Force style launch.

It's a Ford Transit Cargo/Chassis Van. 5 cylinder Ford Diesel --- and gets over 17.5 mpg on the highway! Sure beats the 7 to 9 we got towing a trailer with our F-150!

Nice!
I was contemplating purchasing a Sprinter chassis RV about 4 years ago. I'm glad now that I didn't because things changed and I wouldn't have been able to use it very much.
I'm still planning on getting one similar to yours in the future. A trip to Alaska is on my "bucket list".

Well congrats man!
You guys will enjoy it!

Thanks Bullitt.........with a 400 mile range on the 25 gallon tank, it's a real pleasure to drive. 350 lb/ft of torque means it stays in 6th gear on all but the steepest of grades!
We did nearly 600 miles one day and it felt easy compared to towing a TT. On board generator meant we stayed for free most nights in the WalMart lots...........On the couple of nights we did stay in campgrounds, it sure is a lot easier to set up than a TT. No hitch, no backing, no leveling, no jacks -- basically water, power and sewer and you're done.
