That time of year again!

So it's my birthday and following suit I'm in the market for some new parts. This year it's headers and mid pipe! Borla is discontinued which I am sad about so what would you all recommend??

2012 GT500
JLT123mm intake
Lund Tune
Borla Atak Cat-Back
Ford Racing Mono Throttle Body

I run Kooks on both cars, with catted " green " X pipes.
ARH also makes a quality product.

When the headers were installed on the 11, the standard Kooks X pipe with high flow cats were used.
They threw codes, so the tuner turned off the 02 sensors.
In 2014, the 11 was due for inspection, ( N.J. is an inspection state ), & they plug into the OBD-II port to verify everything is enabled.
The car wouldn't pass with the 02's turned off, so I had Kooks " green " cats installed.
It passed inspection in 2014 & again in July 2016.
When the 14 was modded, I just went with the " green " cats.
According to Kooks, they are 49 state legal.

Ah I see very helpful thank you I appreciate it, sound-wise I'm sure there's no difference what do you run behind them? I know it's pretty much a "sound" upgrade but I love the tone.

I've got a 2015 GT with Kooks long tubes w/green cats and magnaflow competition catback system behind them. Kinda snotty sounding but sweet. Kooks says that they will stand behind any emission issues you may have if you have their green cats. Caution, their not cheap! I've had no issues to date!

Everyone has their favorite sound but couple the sound with the reputation and kooks is hard to beat imo.

I run stock mufflers on both cars.
As I see it, if you're making hp, no need to bring it to the attention of law enforcement.

Lol makes sense plan on doing electric cut outs to side dumps direct from the heads eventually (to wake the dead) that's all in due time. Updates though I did find borla on their site full headers and X pipe for $750.... That's kind of a giant steal no?

Not sure where you're looking, on the Borla site, a search of 2012 GT500 headers = no results !

I don't know but I'd guess eliminating the cats has something to do with it? They can state that it's for off road use only but plenty of them on the road. My gut feeling is pressure from Al Gore? Or maybe it wasn't profitable enough?

Thoughts are all they are. I'm not on any bandwagon or anti-whatever bandwagon.
Summit has been around a while and imo a good source for parts.
