2002 roush?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about roushing my 2002 GT. So my question is, what are the stats on it, and how do I start the process. Right now im pretty much all stock but my cold air intake is aftermarket.

Well its never going to become a serialized roush... But it all depends on what stage you want. Stage 1 i believe was all cosmetic.
Stage 2 was suspension work
Stage 3 was Supercharger and a few other things.

You are going to need to look up exactly what a Roush has and start from there.

Is there anyway I can make it serialized? Like if I go through a roush dealer?

I don't think its possible to get one serialized. It probably needed to be done during the production year your car was built would be my guess.

You're also going to spend more money building the roush than it would be to sell your current car and buy one.

Yeah you have to buy your Roush from the dealer, there are only so many produced for that year. Or try to find a used one.

No you can't build a serialized one, it would have has to be done by roush in that production year.

For a real roush with traceability the suggested price is 40% of the roush package value added to the gt value. The vin still comes up a gt so the banks will only give a loan for the gt value.

TIB - where did you get the 40% number?

FNSweet forum consensus and the local roush dealer in Harrisburg, PA. Forum suggested 40-50 and dealer said approx 40%

If roush would have given unique vin numbers so companies like kbb or nada would be able to recognize them, they would demand more. There was a petition on fnsweet to get them recognized but without the unique vin to readily identify them it's more than likely not ever going to happen.

Does Saleen give an unique VIN, or are they in the same fix as Roush?

IIRC nada does list values and packages for saleen. A quick google search does show listings.

All mustangs have a unique VIN. A Roush or Saleen have whatever VIN was assigned by Ford when the car was built.

Saleen and Roush assign their own serial number to the car to identify it. In some cases, Saleen has made multiple cars with the same bumper number in the same year but they are unique according to model... ie, there may be a #001 black label, a #001 white label, etc... for a given year.

Then there is also the issue where SMS and SPV both produce cars in the same year with the same bumper numbers. The SMS cars are 'recognized', the SPV cars are not 'recognized' as real Saleens, at least according to Steve.

In other words, clear as mud...
