1997 Stage 1 information needed

Hi there,
I am a new member of this forum and I live in France.
I am desperately looking for information about a very peculiar car I have here in Paris...

this is a 1997 Stage 1 Roush with only 800kms (around 500miles) (yes you're reading correctly!!) The car was wrecked 18 years ago and is still seating in my garage because it was never registered. There were English garage plates on it.
I already tried to check the VIN on Roush's site but they don't have info for such an old car!

Well, you see the story is a bit complicated but the car is worth it.
For the moment it is at the workshop because a framerail was changed. There is even another problem: now the body work is finished, the car won't start!!!

So please, if anyone have any idea I can solve my problems... tell me all!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Pierre

You could call Roush and verify through them. If it is a Roush with that few of miles that is awesome. If it has been sitting awhile the battery is Probably crap. Fuel could be bad as well

Well, actually the car seems to have an electronic problem. My gess is a problem with the key code... There is no apparent problem with the diagnostic!
The battery is ok and there is brand new fuel!

Is the pats system locking you out? I know that is a semi common issue but I'm not sure how to fix it without getting an aftermarket tune that turns it off altogether

Hey,hey, I had no clue what you were talking about! For me the PATS system is just an UFO!!
My yougest mustang is a 68... so electronics is not my cup of tea!
I 've just checked on the net and you may be right about this failure in the locking system. Do you guys think such a system can set out of order for no evident reason (just taking the engine out of the bay???) I can remember the engine running before going to the bodyshop.
Thanks for this 1st step. I will try to investigate this way first!
I will keep in touch.

Looks like the custom tune might be needed

I have another question: My Roush has an automatic transmission... is it an option on Roushes car ? It seems to be another specificity to my model.
Any info about that?
