Looking for ways to get info on car from Roush

Long story short I am third owner. Car built as stage 1 but I was told from last owner Roush did the stage 3 upgrades. Emailed Roush the vin and got a canned response that it was built as a stage 1. Looking to try to get additional info

2003 so it has the Roush supercharger any way to determine if it has Roush ECU. Again new to Roush and the things they may be unique

Are you talking about Roush calibration?

Yes and I am just now starting to educate myself on the cars. My concern is taking to a local speed shop for some tuning. Didn't know if it can be tuned if ECU was calibrated by roush

You should be good. Haven't heard any issues recalibrating a Roush tuned car. My Roush is on a Roush retune at the moment. Later this month or early next it'll be tuned by VMP.

If the Stage 3 upgrade was done by Roush I would expect they changed the badging too. Roush is really picky about selling badges and they aren't widely counterfeited.

No prob with retuning and might benefit using local gas if you're in an emission area of AZ.

Doesn't work like that. It was born as a stage 1. Someone had the stage 3 package put on it. It's still a stage 1. Roush isn't like the other tuners. When the car leaves the factory the package it had is what the car is forever. Can't change what it is in the registry.

Typically when Roush re-calibrates the ECU, there is a WARNING decal placed on it, telling a mechanic to contact ROUSH before replacing/reflashing.
