Have you guys seen that tech specs of the 2012 SRT/8 392 ?
FORD will loose a lot of customers with that, price for a FULL will be around 45K out of the dealership.
I wounder if anyone has any experience with DODGE Challenger SRT/8.
I went to a Dodge dealer yesterday...
INCREDIBLE...it looks like the 2012 SRT/8 - 392 will be a GREAT competitor for the BOSS or any other stangs on the 40K price range!
I test-drove the SRT/8 (2011), which is not the 392 YET, and I was surprised with the handling, power and mostly COMFORT and SPACE over the Mustangs.
I wonder if anyone has experience with Dodges, preferably not on RACING, just regular FAST driving, muscle looks and driving fun.
Fastest times posted on the dodge forums for a bone stock 392 are 12.4-12.6
stock 5.0 12.2 manual and 12.3 auto.
No one really posted no times for a bone stock boss yet. But one place swapped tires on a boss and went 11.7
The thing for 45K you can also get a new GT500 or a Boss if you look in right places. So that is what should compare to. Which the GT500 will do 11s with tires only..Best GT500 with tires is 11.1@12X
Will say the dodge interior is super nice though. Friends wife traded her 2010 GT500 in on a 2011 Chally R/T. It ran a 13.3 in the 1/4. He traded his 2010 Camaro in on a 5.0 and ran a 12.6 stock.
Also you put them on a road course where the Boss was designed to be and its game over for the 392 SRT8. The boss has taken down the GT-R/ZO6 at road courses. That is very very sweet.
Not even close. Bone stock they go high 12's in ideal conditions. I love my 5.0 too but let's keep it real. Mine has full exhaust tune boss intake BBK tb and jlt and it runs consistent 12.4's on street tires. Auto. With a converter and a tire it'll be 11's... an m6 with my mods and a tire would go low 12's or high 11's. Not stock though. I watched 2 other stock 5.0's all night the auto was going consistent 13.1 the other was a manual seen him running anywhere from 12.8-13.5.
All these new muscle cars are great to the general public. They have high HP,well designed interiors, handling and each one has the looks to appeal to all kinds of taste. IMO it comes down to what you are gonna use it for. I think the general everyday Joe will be more than happy with any one of the three. I would never stray from the Mustang myself because I am brand loyal but if I had to get a 4 dr because of kids I would stray to a Charger SRT8.........or a "V"!
Sure it's nice on the outside but I hate the inside and driving it was terrible....I really didn't care for the gearshift either....looks or feel.....but atleast Mustangs aren't alone in the muscle world anymore...we were running out of people to beat
Don't even compare a challenger to the boss, let it stick with a gt for it's ass whoopings
