Boss/track pack 5w50 every 3k or every track day I change it. I put Mobil1 but might go with Royal Purple next time.

Ooo nice so it's basically average oil change like any vehicle... As for the Mobil 1 I have heard good things and like the stuff. I've also liked what I heard about Royal Purple but have never used it.

Has anyone used royal purple?? What do you guys think?

Whatever you use, you get to buy 8 quarts of it! And, if you get an oil burner, gonna need another 1 or 2 to maintain to the next oil change.

I'll have to keep my eye out... Thanks for the advise... I think I am probably leaning towards Mobil one because of the quality and fair prices

Mine is an oil burner, but Ford keeps it topped off

If it keeps happening, they will be replacing my engine

Mine is 2012, some are known to. My dealer is watching it & might replace the engine if it persists

I use redline 5w-50. Change the oil every 5,000 miles. Also use the ford racing 820 filter.

RP is the best stuff in my opinion. No matter the price that is what my stang gets. Ran that in my 07 GT too.

problem with royal purple is they use graphite as a additive. other forums say it could sludge up the inside of your engine. try redline,it is ester based, true synthetic, amsoil is also.

Just the other day I was at the gas station and witnessed an old man checking the oil in his Bentley. Level was a little low and he goes back and grabs out of the trunk a quart of O'Reilly 10w40 and dumps it in. I always wondered what those cars took.

Got a pic on my phone of it, couldn't help myself.

What I used in my 3.7 and I'm most likely going to have ford service the boss.

Did you purchase a Boss? If not, don't use the 5w-50, as that's only recommended on the Boss.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the car will last backing out of the driveway if you use that stuff.

OK good question and I know it has been debated but my fill cap says 5w-50 but the gt says 5w-20. I don't plan on tracking the car at least not right now. Should I still use 5w-50 on a DD?

If Ford recommends that oil, why would you want to use anything else? I'm sure they realize not all Bosses will be tracked. Otherwise they would have made them all LS' s
& put dot 4 fluid in them too

Yea, I have since did a lot of research on it. I am going to have ford do the services on this car so I have a definite service record. Nice boss BTW.

Thanks! Yes, I do the same thing. They will service mine for 7 years. I bought the extended service plan. Plus I don't mind giving them my money to service the car. I trust them & they have already rebuilt my tranny & it didn't cost me a thing

Yeah I thought It was going to be a bad day. I hit some marbles(little balls of rubber from tires) on the track, brakes were sliding on them. If I turned it would have Ben disaster
