it sucks not knowing how to work on your own car...need help please.

got a new ram clutch a few months ago with the adjuster at the firewall, and the cable came off the pedal and idk how to tighten it back to normal, ive been spinning the adjuster but it feels like its barely even getting tighter. someone please tell me what im doing wrong. i just want my car back on the road =(
