Thumbs up It's all coming together! New tranny and more....

Thought it was time to start new Thread to include all the additions I have done to my Terminator since I got it back from Paul's High performance (a-holes).

So got the D&D full street/drag strip tranny install with new 26 spline input shaft and Spec stage 2 clutch. Terminator runs great and shifts even better. I think it is still running LEAN!! Maybe someone can help me out with correct air/fuel ratio at cruising speeds. I am running 14.2-14.7, i believe it should be around 11.5-12.

I have purchased PPRV Delete kit to help with that hesitation between gears and will install that maybe this Sunday or the following weekend. Also purchased from American Muscle: Moroso Expansion Coolant tank, Moroso Heat exchanger Coolant tank, and Moroso Power steering tank. (see pictures)

July 27th I head to the Detroit area to Alternative Auto performance for final tune! I hope the car will dyno close to 600 if not more!!!

A/F at normal speeds will be MUCH leaner than at WOT its just how it is, no worries. As far as WHAT the A/F at normal speeds should be I believe 14.x is normal. When you go WOT you go into a closed loop and the tune will then be ran that you had done on the dyno.

This is where I had trouble as my tune was setup that at 70% throttle my car was set to go WOT and in my case driving low in the rpms if I pushed the gas down instead of down shifted I had a little detonation as it tried to go WOT but didnt have enough gas to do it~ so I had to have my tune modified (thus this is data logging and modifying the tune other than just WOT)

Tons of guys run Nitrous on none built motors. Also only doing 50-75 shot. Just a little bust to make sure I can beat or keep up with ZR1s.

ZR1 stock is 532wrhp but are so light and are setup awesome. About equal if not better then me right now.

On a Spec 2??? I think you're nuts, honestly.

When it's time for a new clutch I'm definitely going twin disc. Friend's car ruined me.

I agree, another terrible recommendation from Paul's High performance. I still cant believe they told me to get this particular one. STUPID! Then it was too late and I ordered it. I will burn it up in a year or 2 and get a twin disc as well. What brand do you recommend Lowflyn?

Re: It's all coming together! New tranny and more....

Update on tune: My good friend from ZZP Performance just told me he has a guy that can tune my car on ZZP's dyno. This is great news!!! ZZP has done all my mods to my Bonneville and is one of the best in the country when it come to GM performance cars such as GTX, GTP, SSEI, Colblt SS and Ion redline. They are located 10 minutes from my house too which F**king rocks!!!! It will also cost me half of what I was going to pay at Alternative, plus i don't have to take a day off of work to drive 2.5 hours across the state of Michigan.

I hope to schedule tune for Saturday July 30th.

Keep "tuned" in to thread for final results (pun intended).

See the list of mods listed in my garage and give my your best guess on RWHP!

Re: It's all coming together! New tranny and more....

McLeod RXT is what I've driven. It's on a twin 57 03 cobra here in town. It's like driving a damn economy car around.

Don't get me wrong, I love my spec 3+ and don't plan on needing another one anytime soon...but when I do need one I'm definitely going twin disc.

Re: It's all coming together! New tranny and more....

make sure they know the car and the mods and know how to tune it, each car has its own little special things it likes vs others and if they are only experiences in GM they may not have all the info~ just FYI

All great points Spec! I have 100% complete trust in Tim and his buddy. tim could tune my car with no problem. he does at least 1-3 Dyno tunes per day. Not to mention he has built 4 cars with his dad from the ground up! I think you have seen the video on my Facebook. The Twin Turbo Galaxy ZZ (orange car on the Dyno). That is the same dyno my Cobra will be on.

I am in good hands but thanks for the concern! I would have said the same thing to you! LOL
