Painting Terminator Rear Bumper

What do you do with the lower black part? Leave it unpainted, flat black paint, or black w/ clear coat? How did they come from the factory? What have you done/seen that looks good?

Thanks!

It's completely unpainted now (I just got it). I'm wondering what to do w/ the bottom part, if anything.

Doesn't look painted at all... just the blackish urethane material. It looks flat black, but a little bluish. Any reason leaving it unpainted would be a bad idea?

Just found this pic of a friends stepdads 750hp turboed cobra his is black, but I'd paint it so that plastic doesn't fade and look weird.

Re: Painting Terminator Rear Bumper

yup ,get it painted a matte black , if you clear it it'll last longer but then it'll have a shine to it , it looks better flat ................

Flat black paint it is. Thanks for the input everyone!

She's in the body shop now getting worked over. I'll post some pics when everything's done.

Re: Painting Terminator Rear Bumper

Got it back from the body show a while ago, but it's been at the mechanic getting some other things fixed. Finally back home (for now) for some pictures. The paint guy shied away from painting the bottom part of the bumper black, so it's unpainted for now. If it starts to fade or discolor, I guess I can always paint it later. They did a great job filling in the Cobra letters in the bumper... you can't tell they were ever there no matter how hard you look. I just hope it holds up over time.

Thanks, everyone! Now I just need some time and a dry day to put my chin spoiler on. Maybe a tint, and I'll be done with the exterior. Just wait till you see what I have planned for the inside.
