2012 Gt500 vs 03-04 Cobra

Ok just say both cars have the same price tag, which one would you take? And why?

Obviously the Gt500 has a higher value, Im just asking which one you would rather have.

And since i know this will be a topic in this thread if the thread grows any, which would win in a race?

termi... without a doubt. I am a new edge fanatic. I am absolutely in love with this bodystyle because it was the one ford went completely different with in my eyes.

Re: 2012 Gt500 vs 03-04 Cobra

this is a very loaded question/topic

if you are comparing back when they were new the 03/04 cobra as a much much much bigger jump than the previous and any competition in the market~ especially for the money. Remember that back in 04 the market was VERY bad and new 04 cobras could be had with CRAZY discounts (like 32k vs 36 sticker or so and zero percent financing etc).

Fast forward to now, you would have to factor in inflation and the rest to see what the values really are in terms of how they differ.

I would say new vs new the 03/04 cobra was the better deal back in the day.

In todays market you are paying 60k or 20k~ so its not really comparable in that respect.

Yea all 03-04 cobras are terminators it's just a pet name that stuck from the ford factory. I think honestly I'd take a gt500 simply because the rarity of them compared to a termi. Where I live there's like 2 gt500 but no termis and that's because they are brand new gt500 owned by older people where as the terminators were able to be bought by younger people who eventually crashed them or had them repossessed because they thought they could handle the payments. But by owning either one would have a different outcome. I wouldn't do anything to my gt500 if I owned one. It's already good enough but if I had a termi I'd mod the hell out of it.

Yea I was thinking about gettin a 07 after I get the gt paid off. Like I said above, I wouldn't do anything to it. Maybe a catback or a a pulley for the sc but that's it

I wouldn't do much to it either. Just make it sound mean that's pretty much it.

Yea I like the '12 more but by the time I get my car paid off I don't see the '12s being below 40 lol it will just be a test of time to see how much the 07 are. Hopefully around 30k

Nah the gt is staying lol no trade in. I've got to much invested into her for a trade in. Lol never see any of it back lol I don't see her ever making it to 100k in her life. She's at 78k now and I'm putting trick flow ported heads on in about a month and building the motor at the same time. Then on to a kenne bell. Unless I got the right price from someone she's staying for life lol

---------- Post added at 12:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:18 AM ----------

After I build it and do the heads and cams she won't be anything but a toy that I bring out maybe once a week.

I love the Termi because its almost legendary. And i think in 20 years when people look back and think of cars, the Termi will be one of the most favored. Imagine 20 years from now, what one of the Termis would be worth and how rare it would be. They make Gt500's in more then just one model and they'll probly make them for many years to come. But the Termi was made in 2 years and has a unique memory.

Re: 2012 Gt500 vs 03-04 Cobra

Kinda partial...

But the 03/04 Cobra has a fun factor not met by any other vehicle I've driven, S197 included. It does not feel refined, safe, or in control...

That and I've yet to meet any GT500 that'll match me at the track

I don't care for the front end of the termis. I like the 99-01 cobra fronts more but other then that I love the termi. Something about a car that's reasonably priced that can shred everything on the street with just tires and a tune is amazing.

I think I would go with a redfire termi and and a redfire termi vert and hopefully still pay less than I would for a gt500
Two termis are totally better than 1 gt500
Sunny day vert and an autocross hardtop
Dreams
One day they will be mine!!!

Around here only older people own cars like termis or gt500 so I'd be cool with either. Nothing sexier than a termi IMO
