Time for upgrades

Just got done ordering from Summit, ordered a BBK 255i.p.h. fuel pump, a Canton inline fuel filter, Ford Racing 3.73 gears, the deluxe gear installation kit, MSD PRO-Billet street distributer, MSD 6AL-2 ignition box, and a new Centerforce heavy duty throwout bearing. (since I think the shop that replaced my clutch swapped out throwout bearings on me) cant wait for tuesday

Not a bad price either, they waived the shipping, so all in all just a little over $1,100

Oh and it's all going into my 1995 Cobra SVT and I already have ceramic coated headers which really heat up the engine bay. Has anyone had any heat problems with the MSD 6AL-2 ignition box?

A lot of people mount on the fire wall on the driver side or where the battery is if you have a battery relocation kit(in the trunk)

Oh baby, it feels like Christmas. It really sucks that I woke up with the flu this morning(101 temp. as well as other nasty symptoms that I won't mention). I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait till I'm better, I'm ready to pop the hood and get started.

And there goes another two fifty for a MSD Blaster coil, MSD wiring harnesses, a filler neck gasket and all Royal Purple oil, transmission fluid and gear oil. Shouldn't have to pay out any more moolah except to have the gears rebuilt since I don't have a press. I'm going to try and take as many pics and video of the installs as I can but since I'll be doing most of the work I can't promise quality.

I meant quality pics and video

i did my gears without a press.it may make the job easier but not necessary.

---------- Post added at 06:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:32 PM ----------

but it would still require access to a few specialty tools

It's not too bad, I'm gonna pay a friend three hundred for him to rebuild the gears and while he's working on that I'm going to be installing all the other parts. It's a heated shop with a lift and he has a dyno where I can tune my CPU

Oh yeah it's dragging ***, I'm really excited to put in the fuel pump and fuel filter. Ever since I bought this car it has had problems with hard starts and other fuel pressure related problems. I can't wait to see how she feels after all of the work.

---------- Post added at 01:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 AM ----------

And what upgrades are you putting on?

---------- Post added at 02:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:59 AM ----------

Oh and have you or anybody else used Canton filters before? It looks like I may be able to replace the filters but it doesn't come with any paperwork so I don't wanna break it by trying

Same here, I'm planning on replacing all my internals next month with forged and having her ported and polished and I'll be done on the upgrades until next year around this time. Next year I'm gonna try and put a roots style supercharger on her.

---------- Post added at 02:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:38 AM ----------

I'm pretty sure that after next months upgrades she should be more than ready for the supercharger
