I'm about 99% sure I'll be picking up a 1997 Cobra. Just a few questions about it...

First, what are my radio options? I had an 01 GT that I put a cd player in, and it was a sinch. What do i do with this double head unit crap?

Second, the check engine light is on. I brought my scan tool with me, it has a P1151. More than likely dirty or bad maf? It has like a four hundred year old K&N filter in it... Suppose it could be a rear O2 as well.

If you're curious, as I said before, it's a 97 Cobra, Black with black leather, 100% stock, 119,000 miles, no accidents and not a spot of rust on the car. You could eat off the undercarriage. I'm paying $5,000-$5,500 for it.

Any input or past experiences would be great to hear!

There are plenty of options for the stereo. There are quite a bit of choices in the double din market. Everyone will have there own opinion but I chose to go with pioneer.

How would that work for my car? The two units are staggered, with a piece of trim between them...

You can get any single DIN stereo, and a pocket/cubby for the bottom hole.
To use a double DIN you'd have to cut/modify that console, which I don't recommend. It's best to stick with a single.

That car will fit just about any stereo you want! All the interiors about the same around the at year. I have a double din in my daily driver and a single DIN in my Cobra. i will be switching to the Pioneer App radio! If you have a Iphone or a droid phone then get this!! Its sweet! Well worth the money!

AppRadio 2 (SPH-DA100) - NEW! - In-Dash iPhone 4/4S and Android™ Compatible Car Receiver with 7" Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen, Built-In Bluetooth for Hands-Free Calling, and On-Screen Access to Compatible Smartphone

Very cool. I do have an iPhone, and i have the intergration setup in my truck and my wives car so I can listen to Spotify. Its awesome. I may go cheap with the radio, we'll see. So many things I'll have to spend money on... It's gonna be fun.
