Exhaust questions!

I've been searching around for a exhaust to get done on my car. I'm really leaning towards the Borla I really like the rumble of it..

What do you guys think of this exhaust? any clips of your car with it? What do you get with it? What does the X pipe have to do with anything? Any advice greatly appreciated! thank you!

Re: Exhaust questions!

an x-pipe will give it a raspier sound, like a NASCAR and helps to give a little more high end hp vs an h-pipe which will give it the traditional muscle car sound

Borla makes 2 types. The stingers are louder and more popular.
I have bassani on my car and prefer the sound.
H pipe gives the exhaust a deeper tone but leads to more popping on deceleration. X pipe has a cleaner sound in my opinion and is what I have on my car

Re: Exhaust questions!

Thanks guys for your input! I really have no idea about anything, just know what I would like to do! lol

Borla 140280 - Borla Stainless Steel Aggressive Cat-Back Systems - Overview - SummitRacing.com Can we post links on here? if not I will remove it but will a exhaust like this work on my cobra? it does not say cobra but it includes the x pipe and the one for the cobra does not, that was the only difference I saw.

Re: Exhaust questions!

You like "Rumble" Go with the X-pipe, cut off the cats, get set of flowmaster super 40's...and for a little more sound and you got the money go ahead and buy a set of long tube headers!! Awesome sound!!

No that one will not work. You need a catback specific for 99-04 cobra if you still have the irs. Your other option is to just buy mufflers and have them welded into your factory catback

Irs is independent, rear suspension. Having everything custom fitted to your current exaust might b the way to go.

Re: Exhaust questions!

I see.

I think I've decided I want the borla stingers catback 1999-2001 Ford Mustang Cobra - Borla Exhaust System
and the bassani catted x-pipe. Bassani Mustang Catted X-pipe (99-04 GT, 01 Bullitt, & 99-01 Cobra - Manual) 46993 - Free Shipping!
I really like how it sounds on the cobras I've seen online... I think it would be the perfect fit for my car.

Irs is the rear suspension on 99-04 cobras from the factory. It is much different than the solid rear axle found in every other mustang. You have.to get exhaust that runs under the rear suspension.
