Best sounding Catback for x pipe

Stupid question. I been searching all the old threads and can't find whaat I'm looking for. I have a dr gas off road x pipe on my cobra. I want a really good sounding catback to go with it, I want it to sound like a beast. I have a magnaflow catback paired with it right now and it's EXTREMELY quiet.. I hate it.

Any experience or suggestions? I've been looking into spintech, and pypes violators, maybe even slp2 but i dunno. I want it really aggressive yet don't want to sound like sh*t if you know what I mean.... Thanks.

Thanks Butch, i went with a pair of spintech pro streets. Spent all day on you tube. It was hard because i didn't want to spend more than 200 bucks on another set of mufflers. That only left me with a couple options.

I found tht The slps sound like garbage if you don't have cats. the slp 2s sounded ok but you could hear the baffling rattle around in every video i saw... Pypes violator sounded ok but had too much crackle. Flownasters were ok but ive put those on every car i've ever owned not to mention the drone. Magnapacks with o/r pipes sounded kind of like a diesel truck at certian speeds, not a fan.

Mac sounded great, i almost went with them. Spintechs just sounded better to me.

Very nice, I know right with the flowmasters on all. Same here. I wanna go with 3" header to muffler then I guess all I can do is 2 1/2 all the rest of the way, I really wanna get dump valves, real expensive though

Dump valves?... Oh you mean cut outs? Or the electronic ones. They aren't too bad. U can do the manual ones dirt cheap.. I dunno if they do 3 from the header. Prob would be a loss of power unless u have some kind of forced induction

---------- Post added at 01:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:33 AM ----------

It would sound Freakin awesome, i totally forgot about those

Yes cut outs, yeah manuals are cheap but it would suck very bad having to jack up the car to open em. Electric ones Yeppers. I went by a shop and asked for 3 all the way threw but he said he could only do 3 from header to muffler, I wanna do it myself just taking his advise. Id get everything but install on me own. Damn loss of power? Even if its on like a foot or so of 3?

No back pressure man. 3 inch all the way thru from header to tail pipe is way too much. Ulsess your pushing a crazy amount of power out.

2.5 works perfectly. U can een do 2.5 then 3 after mufflers. That wud sound crazy

He said there's no room to do 3 after mufflers. All he could do is 3 header to muffler.

---------- Post added at 11:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:54 PM ----------

What about 3 header to muffler then 2.5 and end up with 3 for the tips?

Damn then I should be able to fit ,, but now not any more since you mentioned lost power. What do you think on the original set up, 3 to muffler then 3 tail?

If i were u i'd get some kooks long tubes or something of that quality then a catted x with the 3 inch ctback. It will scream so freakin loud, you'll have to have a more tame muffler for sure

Honestly man, and this is just my opinion.. I think others may agree; i think doing that would be a total waste of time and money. It may have a negative effect and loose power because of the lack of backpeeasure. Opening it up to 3 is huge. Unless u got a turbo or blower its usless.

If u want a change in sound just change your mufflers. Maybe put those 3inch tips on.

I spent all day online today and spintechs sound sooo mean. I can't wait ti get mine installed.

Wow, that isn't as loud as i thought it would be. It actually sounds pretty good for having Lt and flows with no cats... I think you're right, thise sound like 40s. Anything else would prob be too much.

Are those your lifters I hear ticking? Damn, i thought my Cobra was the only one that sounded like that, damn noisy modular engines...

Just an update. I finally received my new spintech prostreets and welded them in... Wow, what a different sound! It sounds like a beast from hell now. Really happy with that purchase. Almost obnoxious. Almost...

Re: Best sounding Catback for x pipe

It's expensive as hell.... but Bassani sounds NASTY!

I'm installing BBK LT headers and a BBK shorty o/r H pipe to replace my xpipe... just not a fan of the x pipe sound, but I get compliments on the Bassani tone all the time!

That being said, for the price, Flowmasters are never a bad choice either.

I feel like Fliwmasters are overpriced. They should be about 50 a muffler instead of 80ish.. But they do sound good, thats why they're played out..

I think i'm a new hard core fan of spintech for sure. These things are built like a brick sh*t house.
