How do I clean the suede in my '01?

Every cleaner that pick up says that it's not recommended for use on suede. What have you guys used? Mine is pretty dirty and I want to bring it back because those seats are just sexy.

Thanks for any input!

Re: How do I clean the suede in my '01?

I seriously just used a really high grain sand paper on mine... then vacuumed the seat... made it look smooth again like new!

There are special brushes to brush suede with. You prolly should try that along with a good vacuum, then a mild soap and water with the brush to clean. Let dry and brush again to bring the nap back to it. I'd look at a decent shoe store that sells good shoe care stuff for the brush.

Re: How do I clean the suede in my '01?

well for starters its not suede, its alcantara, not that it matters much. They recommend woolite spray cleaner (test in a smaller area first of course).

Some times its wear patterns not dirty FYI. My 03 cobra has the same inserts and there are wear patterns that make it look dirty when its not.

Ok. Sweet thanks for the heads up. I wasn't sure. So what do you do for the wear patterns you are talking about?

TMI makes covers if you want to replace them

Mustang TMI Upholstery 2003-2004 Cobra Seats 1999-2004 | CJ Pony Parts

those are the cobra version but i think they have or will have soon the 99-01 version. I think the 03/04 are better though.

Thanks! Would I just need to take them to an upholstery shop for that? Or is it DIY?
