BBK Cold Air Intake (99-01 Cobra)

Does anyone have this installed and if so did you have any fitment issues? Some of the reviews are less than helpful.

Re: BBK Cold Air Intake (99-01 Cobra)

I have the duel 65mm "power plus" TB... I think it's the same on AM sells. It fits perfect. Not sure how anyone says otherwise.

---------- Post added at 08:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:04 PM ----------

my bad... you wanted CAI... I saw the "recent posts" on the side and the one above this Thread was about a Throttle body...

I don't have a BBK CAI, I have a custom made one... but I have a buddy with a 99 cobra who has the BBK CAI with a stock TB... he didn't have any issues at all... sorry about the confusion with the first post.

That's cool and you never know with comments. I would think a lot of people have this installed with no problem and just didn't write a comment. I just hope a few more will chime in. I have about 1500 for some mods and like the looks of this CAI.

Re: BBK Cold Air Intake (99-01 Cobra)

It does look really good under the hood. and it is much larger than the stock breather... My buddy said to be sure to press the grommet ALL THE WAY onto the throttle body, and make sure it's tightened down good, otherwise that CAI will rattle against the strut tower. but he has nothing but good things to say about this CAI after that.

Like bmabbott said just make sure it's up an snug, easy to install. Mine already came with but I've taken it off a few times.
( Im not if its cause they didn't snug it up good but the boot that goes from the tb to the tube got a cut where the bracket was holding it, on the tb side, my brother got me a pvc pipe boot and worked great to the day. )
Oh and no fitment issues to my knowledge, ,,

Got CAI in today. Installed fairly easy the fitment does not match the price. I have moved and twisted the assembly in every which way and put on 2x from start. The vacuum hose will not reach.

Where would I get a hose to fit without having to clamp some air hose on. Any suggestions appreciated.

*it looks like you could turn it up but that's not the case.

Looks like they had to make them a hose as well. Makes you wonder why bbk didn't include a hose on such an expensive CAI. Oh well, I'll go to advanced auto to see if they may have one similar.

I sent them an email, I'll post their reply when I get it. I'm curious as to what they say, probably that I don't have it properly installed.

I got it through Lethal Performance. AM was out of stock last week. It was boxed as a kit and my receipt was BBK.

It was $7 cheaper at lethal. I bought tuner from AM and my exhaust from stage 3 motorsports($50 cheaper).

I have emailed several times since Wednesday and only got one response as to what they did not fit (as if the 4 up close up photos did not show exactly what didn't fit). The customer service $ucks big time(BBK PERFORMANCE) . If I had known this may have gotten a different CAI. I got a piece of high strength inner braided 1/2" air line, works great!

I used 3m black electrical tape to even out the gap. I also installed SLP Loud mouth exhaust (40 min) sounds awesome. Put my bama tune on as well. I will post link to exhaust video when I make it this weekend. I have owned several flowmaster and magnaflow exhaust and this is tlmy favorite yet!
