The 4.6L DOHC is a D
am, meaning there are 2 cams per head and four valves per cylinder. The standard 4.6L is a SOHC which has one cam per head with two valves. Basically the 4v (dohc) is a deep breathing rpm harvester. 4.6's like to spool up but the unlike the 2v that likes to rev to where commercial airliners play the 4v shoots for something higher like where the shuttle roamed. Any question shoot. But also DOHC have been around since 93. Introduced in the Mark VIII. There are a ton of folks on here that are non cobras that have dohc motors. just give a shout.
