I'm eating oil.

What up. I'm eating oil in my 01 Cobra, I'm noticing white puffs of smoke on initial start up from the exhaust, lasting briefly. Curious as to A: whats goin B: if anyone else is having this issue and C: if there's any quick fixes, additives, etc. I can add to it.

Look forward to hearing from you guys.

I have an 02 Cobra (Australia). I occasionally experience the same thing. Before buying the Cobra, I did some research, cos they are quite rare here. I found a few things to look out for; mild oil consumption was one. I am not too concerned about it, and it hasn't got any worse.

Are you sure it's oil? White smoke is water. It might just be condensation build up in the exhaust.

Might be loosing oil through the pcv valve. Not normally a huge problem on a na car but a catch can might be a good investment.

Are you loosing any coolant? If not the white smoke isn't much to worry about unless it gets worse.

Re: I'm eating oil.

I know the 96-98 cobras will burn a quart roughly every 900 miles. I'm sure the new edge cobras arent much different.

I'm running a 4v (new build) with no oil loss. My 2v was the same 75K no noticeable oil loss. I have noticed that some filters are different in size. I noticed that a S2 from stp is smaller that the fl820. But my Ford Racing filter is a tad bigger than the fl820. 3.5 quarts is a lot to burn within 3k miles. If its not on the ground then there are 2 places it can go out the tailpipe or in the coolant. I do know that the oil filter housing/cooler gasket can leak and cause oil to go into the coolant.
