Any problems with revving car during parade?

Was in a parade tonight with my 96 SVT Cobra. There were about 15 Mustangs from our club there. Along the parade route viewers encouraged us to make some noise. I've got a Flowmaster exhaust with no cats it sounds pretty good. So anyway maybe 10-14 times I'd rev it up. My wife wants to know if this can hurt the engine? The car has 44K miles, Royal Purple oil all it's life. Most times I ran it up a quick blip to 3-4,000. Once I went overboard and ran it up over 6,000. Car wasn't running hot. So is this safe, or not a good idea? On the plus side I was told we had the best sounding car. Thanks, Spiney-Dave

IMO, if it was within temp range, it should be good. For me, I was always worried about my clutch. I really wanted to participate in our 4th of July parade, but I chickened out.

Agreed! Shouldn't be an issue at all, especially if you aren't just holding it against the rev limiter.

Yes the hard part on a parade is the clutch. Last year the route was uphill and one guy blew out his clutch, the rest were hot, and the cars were getting warm. This year they reversed it and it was mainly downhill. I coasted in neutral a lot. The AT guys have the advantage in parades. I'm in another in November but it should be cooler and it's on the flat. I have hi- flow cats in case I push the 5K a year limit, but I hate to install them, the car sounds so sweet. Thanks guys.
