2000 cobra r

Saw a video add about a performence shop selling a 2000 cobra r, they said it had a 5.4? Wondering if that was true, i coulda sworn it had a 4.6 cuz they said it was stock. Also it was selling for bout 60k. Less than 5k miles on. I know theyre rare but are they really that much?

well they came out with both a dohc 4.6 and a sohc 5.4 so yeah it can be legit...as for price that's a little cheap actually for on with such low mileage

Yea there sweet fit uniqueness but, I couldn't comfortably drive one no a/c no radio (I think ) no rear. Seat which isn't a big deal but they are ment to be a race car so it has like nothing lol

It's rare only like what 300 made. And was a super mustang car at the time. Having 385 NA hp and great handling, breaking and aerodynamics. Inside I think it had no rear seat, ac and some other stuff.

Racing seats, no AC, no radio, and no rear seat. Basically they were street legal race cars.

60K is actually a good price for that car. The price in 2000 was 55K. The car is built for racing and it is a DOHC 5.4 with a sweet looking/performing intake manifold. I believe it has the IRS like all cobras 99-04, but yes it is not supercharged like the 03/04, but has great power for its day and even todays day. Its capable of 12 second quarter times stock, but the road course is where that car dominates. the brake calipers are 4 piston and the rotors are slotted/vented etc etc. The car was and is a bad***

These cars after a tune put down around 400HP at the wheels, very underrated.
Motortrend ran both the 2000 R and a 2003 Cobra and here is the comparison.

Cobra R 1/4 mile 12.9 110mph
2003 Cobra 1/4 mile 13.1 109mph

Cobra R skid pad 1.01g 71.4mph 600 ft slalom
2003 Cobra skid pad .85g 64.1mph 600 ft slalom

Cobra R braking 60 to 0 109ft
2003 Cobra braking 60 to 0 121ft

One of my favorite Mustangs ever and still one bad ### CAR! But yeah, no A/C or radio

I would just love to have 1 for a day. Plus being all motor and the way they are setup they can go hard all day.

Thats just what Car and driver or motor trend did. I've seen bone stock Mach 1's run 13.1-13.2 and seen bone stock 03-04 cobra's run high 12's, both of course require a great driver, but it's definitely possible.

True, but the IRS needs a little work to launch like the mach 1. If you brace the IRS I think the R would run 12.4 12.5. Stock. Motortrend said they couldn't launch the car and that hurt the image of this car as not being that fast.

Ford produced 107 1993 Cobra R's (all red) (extra 7 due to law suit), 250 1995 Cobra R's (all white), and in 2000 they produced 300 all in red with the 5.4L etc etc. They are rare and generally sell for 40-60k depending on miles/condition. I would not want one for a daily, just a show car or track car.

The 93 cobra r was sold to anyone that could afford it and most ended up in private collections. In order to buy the 95 and 00 you had to have a NHRA/SCCA license to even be considered; thinking these beasts would hopefully remain where they were designed for.
