Some good rubbers...

I have decided to keep the 03 cobra wheels on my car but i will step up to a 10.5 wide rear. Nitto nt555 is what i wanted but a buddy told me about nt05. Who has had any time on any of these rubbers to know the best pick?

Personally op, i don't like either nitto tire. If your sold on them, the nt05 won't last long. I'd look at falken fk 452 as a nitto555 competitor and a falken azensis 615 vs the nt05 or the new bfg radical. I don't like nittos because they don't heat cycle for ****. Especially the nt05. They're ok cold and ok warm but as soon as t hot, they're greasy and they kinda stay that way.

Ive had the 555s i liked them they were decent tires ive pulled some pretty good 60 foots with them. I have nt05r's now and i love them ive cut even better times with them. They are radials so they dont require a huge burn out like a slick just spin them over for a few seconds every other pass and theyll stay sticky. But its all personal preference. Ive only put two sets of tires on my car since 08. I had the dunlop direzzas extremes when i bought the car they were a decent. My nt05r's are my daily driver tires and i have no problems with them in the rain. Ive even driven in the snow on them and did ok but not recommended. Good luck with the buy

Azensis is Falkens hi perf grippy line. The falken azensis re615 looks awesome too. Really nice fire for reasonable prices. New bfg radical is in the same treadwear category and gets great reviews. I'm thinking about them for my next set.

As DaBlueDude mentioned the heat cycle of the tires, i begain to imagine that a shorter burn out would be an easy fix after all like you mentioned it is a radial and in most cases im driving there on these.

They're all comparatively priced. A set of 275/40/17 is about 800 for the Falkens and 860 for the bfg for me.

Yeah your right... Im not gunna be making serious power mostly a daily/ cruiser kinda car. Im showing interest in Autocross so i may be checking out the Falkens because they seem more of the right tire for the funtion. Idk if anyone has used the Nittos on the course before.
