Well it's an older car, 20 hp less. What condition and miles does it have? Honestly I wouldn't do it unless for like a 96 and up

I used to have a 94 cobra and absolutely loved the car. But 173K miles? No way I'd do that unless everything component has been changed out. If there any suspension component that is original I promise you that it's worn out.

I did a complete suspension upgrade at around 110K miles cause every bushing and joint was shot.

The car looks good, but as they say buyer beware.

Pass on it. Not worth trading for an older car with way more miles. Dangerously high when you dont how how well it was maintained.

Of course they're 5.0's. My 94 Cobra has a laundry list of modifications including a procharger and she is definitely a beast!

With those mods and a dyno tune pushing about 270 to the wheels.

I'd keep the 02 and save for a 4v if ut were me.

When i had my 95 it was bored 30 over, and nothing factory other than the block. Naturally Aspirated i was pushing around 263 rwhp and 314 rwtq. I sold it to my buddy and when we messed around i literally walk it in my termi. Even when i only had catback.

Are you in california? If so i'll trade you my 4V 97 cobra, 5 speed with a fresh new professionally rebuilt engine, i just put 800 miles in the past 2 1/2 months. 136,000 on body and tranny. I had it dynoed before i had the engine rebuilt and it was pushing 294 rwhp so now im sure its past that cause of a couple of upgrades since the rebuild.

I had a 95 with very low miles. Did all the bolt ons, swapped in a A9L from a fox, shifter, 3550 trans, the works. Car was GREAT and they were underrated from the factory too power wise, I could eat up my buddies bolt on PI GT from a stop and pull on him on the highway too.

As for that car... mileage is just a number but at that number there are a LOT of things that would have to have been replaced or VERY well maintained for me to even consider it. Also you have emissions to worry about if you live in an emissions state that still sniffs OBD1 cars like mine does. One reason I am in a modular now, no sniffer here just plug in to OBD2 scanner and go.

Another thing that I would HATE about that car is the BBK intake. Not sure what bright individual swapped out the original Cobra intake... Finding an OEM 94/95 Cobra upper intake is getting tricky these days although I've seen a few come up every now and then.

Also, you have an automatic new edge which means you've got a VERY good transmission in your car. I know we all want 5 spds but have you ever driven a stalled automatic car before? If your goal is straight line power keep the auto and mod it. With a good aftermarket stall converter and a simple J-mod to that trans you will probably find you really enjoy having an automatic. Even if you don't have the money for a $600 stall converter (Freakshow makes a great triple disc with a 2 yr warranty for that price) a J-mod is $60 and can be done with hand tools in a few hours.

I've said it many times before my next Mustang is probably going to be a 2004 automatic Mustang GT OR a 2004 automatic Mach 1 if I can find the rare, much maligned automatic Mach. The 04s got the 4r75w and those really don't need much to hold really big power and shift like champs.
