I don't have a Cobra, but the first thing I did when i brought my Mustang home was take off the plate, even before I washed it.

I live in Cali also, out of our 4 cars only 1 has a front plate on it. And that's the Hyundai that got pulled over for it about a week after we bought it in 07. The Mustang, Corvette and Truck don't have the front plates on them, no problems at all.

I just noticed you are from Hayward. I'm in Sacramento, but I'm going to be going to college in Moraga in September, that's less than 30 minutes away from you.

My uncle bought the AM front plate holder for his 01 cobra , it slides under bumper
Pretty good mod if you want to have it not show but show it when cops are around

If you live in california it's illegal to not have front plates. Most cops don't care, but there are always that few that love to hate on our mustangs.
Easy way to go around it is to just put it on your windshield. That's what i did and the cop didn't seem to mind it when i got pulled over. Im guessing it's cool if its clearly visible.
Another much cooler way is to buy an electric front plate holder, these can be hidden and quickly put back into place at the touch of a button.
Now imagine the cop's stupid face when he tells you that you don't have a front plate, the you show him the front plate. PRICELESS!!

The cops in my area don't care. I have tinted headlights and tail lights, no front plate, and no catalytic converters and cops don't even look my direction when I drive past them.

Very true! But it always depends on the cop and his mood.
The key is just be cool with the police when they pull you over accept you made a mistake and dont be a dick.

FYI those fix it tickets can always be written off if you dont want to pay the $25. All you have to do is fix it lol.
