Hell of a price only 2000 Mystics made in '96 they have a Teksid block rumor has it the WAP block can't handle near as much power 99 had it but with the 2000 Cobra fiasco there were a few Teksids left over for 2001 but most were WAP blocks. 56,000 miles is way low kbb says $14k someone cherished that car with that kinda mileage seems like alot of people on here lean towards "evolved mustangs" like newer than '98 I love my Mystic and so does everybody who sees hears or rides in it. There aren't very many left if u want to put massive power to that block it will handle it if u want bone stock power go newer or personal preference.

+1. The Mystic is very unappreciated imo. It's a great car, awesome in person, and you never, ever see one on the streets. I would love a 96 Mystic Cobra. Such a cool car.

I'd never have one simply because if you need to repaint a piece have fun... the paint is over $1k per liter last time I looked. Its because it shares pigments with US Currency.

Had a 96 mystic. Was a great car. Sold it for 9 in 09 after getting an 03 10th anniversary terminator Great cars both. Thinking about getting rid of my 03 as it just sets in the garage now.

Termis should sit in the garage. They're our generation's Boss 429 IMO. Give it another 20-30 years and you'll see them at whatever big auction there is going for alot. In mint condition/low miles/mostly unmolested of course. Good luck holding onto it for that long tho...

I'm about to start enjoying my 98 a HELL of a lot more. Sold my beater Mazda 6 so its down to the stang and my 5.4L Expedition. Will drive the Expy in when the weather is ****ty but I've come to the conclusion that my 98 GT with 116k should probably be driven more and enjoyed even if its in the rain. Just have to ditch these Nitto 555s for DD duties. AM here I come I suppose... Car gets over 20mpg so why not. Just gotta get a t45 rebuild done on this thing and switch from Tri-Ax to a new MGW to improve my DD experience.

Saw a car on SN95forums with 20s in the back and 19s up front and it looked GREAT. PMed him to see wtf he had to do to make them fit. Nurburgring wheels.

Kdw2 is a great all weather tire.

At least the cobra isn't as bad as the 90. 1 tank of gas a year is about normal...

Not sure about driving it in the rain yet. While the Nitto 555Rs are on the back I'm kind of sketch but I hear good things about the KDW2. Probably going to want to do all the wheel bearings before I put on new tires which means I have to do the IRS because I'm not spending money on the SRA if I plan to swap it which means I need to do the FTBR kit while its out and which also means I need to get the rear coilovers which means I should match it up front to a MM K member/coilover kit which means...

yeah... I hate these cars...

I agree, and hope to have one someday to do that. Same with the Boss 302 especially the Laguna Seca. Only run 2 years.

The Real Boss 429 equivalents would be the Cobra R's because of the low production runs. Though they may be more comparable to the 65-66 Shelby GT-350 R's.

I did see a remark on another forum that showed the flip side of that. It went something like " keeping your hot car in the garage and never driving it is like not having sex with your hot girlfriend so she's better for her next boyfriend"

Lol yeah that is true. But you aren't going to be able to sell your hot girlfriend to the next boyfriend for tens of thousands of dollars either. Well maybe but not in this country...
