Tvs is on!

My '03 is still in the shop but Brad at HPP sent me a pic of the engine bay. The blower is on and my new starlite hoses are ran but they are waiting on the triple hat and pumps to show up then it goes on the dyno! I can't freaking wait to drive it, it's gonna be a beast!

Well my car is still not done but I have a couple more pics...the tuner suggested I put on an off road X-pipe before it goes on the dyno so I got a UPR off road x and took it up there. Everything is on and ready to hit the rollers

Now that the VMP is on there you better swap out the input shaft on your T-56 for 26 spline or you are going to twist that sucker right off! But VERY nice, can't wait to see what she makes. Post a dyno vid so we can hear it scream.

Yeah I'm hoping the 10 spline will hold for a while but we'll see..I asked if they'll make a video for me since I live so far from them and they'll be tuning it on a spur of the moment kinda thing, so hopefully they'll get me a good vid.

Yeah it seems like everyday we read about mechanics holding somebody's car hostage huh??

Also did you make an appointment with him or just drop it off and told him to call you when he's done?

Well it's kind of a long story but I'll try to tell it to where it makes sense.
I first call them late Sep. to see when I could get it done and they told me I had two options...

option #1
I could drop it off on Oct. 16th and it would be a "in-house" car and they would just play it by ear and get it done as time allowed or

option #2
I could schedule it for Nov. 4th and they would put it together and tune it on Friday the 8th so I went ahead and scheduled that.

When I took it up there I decided I wanted to go ahead and get a full return fuel system installed and they told me that would take more time but I was cool with that...I gave them some money to get the fuel parts ordered and later that week was told that they had everything in except the fuel hat and pumps, which would be in on tues. the 12th...I was cool with that and figured it would be done that Friday, well after that on Wednesday the 13th I get a call saying it would be in my best interests to put on an off road x-pipe before my dyno tune because the BBK high flow cats would kill power and cause problems tuning, ok..I had a UPR off road x but I live damn near 3 hours away so I asked if they had one in their shop and I could swap out mine when I picked her up. I didn't hear back from them till Friday 15th saying they don't have one and I could mail mine or drop it off, so I had move all kinds of stuff around in my wife and my schedule to make it to where I could take my wife's car (my cobra is my daily and the only other car is my wifes) cause it's too dang expensive to ship it and it would take that much more time! Anyway, I make it up there before the closed last Saturday and talk to them about it and look over all the work that was done (they did a bang up job by the way) and payed my bill off and I was told that they had three cars besides mine that were "in-house" and they were big projects so mine would get done "ASAP"!
Here it is a week later and it's still not ready and the best they can tell me is they are just so busy and they'll get it done!
I'm just kind of frustrated because it need my damn car...I'm in the middle of a move and don't have a vehicle when I need one, I'm having to beg and borrow rides and I'm just a little pissed!

I called gearheads today and just telling them my situation, they said they could move stuff around and get it done on Tuseday....and that's without giving them a dime of money upfront and on a holiday week...and here it is going onto the forth week and $5,200 cash money later, still no car!

I'm I just being too impatient or what, what do you guys think?

your being impatient but that's a good thing. It's your car and your hard earned cash. This situation sucks but seems lots of people are in similar binds as yours with mechanics

Yeah that's what I'm saying...4 weeks is a long time! I will be surprised if it's done this coming week. I usually work on all my stuff but I'm new to the modular game...I've had foxes all my life and I'm a little reluctant (scared) to dive in to one and tear something up...lol

There ya go. Have a few friends around when you reinstall the trans. I dropped it by myself but couldn't get the angle right to reinstall. The t56 has a little weight to it.

Also, 3 jacks are helpful in removing and installing the IRS. It's another piece you'll want a friend for, stupid heavy.

Yeah most definitely remove the IRS completely and rent the bushing removal tools from FTBR or you will want to kill yourself.

Just picked her up from HPP and couldn't be happier! Manny came in early yesterday and got her tuned up! I didn't get a video but it's all good...ya seen one, you've seen them all. I didn't get a 93/torco tune like I had previously planned because of time restraints (constraints) but it made good power just on straight 93...she put down 614.7 and 565tq! Not bad for a little ol 2.3! Didn't get a chance to talk to manny and see what the timing is set at but Brad said that Manny doesn't try and squeeze every bit out of it at the cost of reliability. I'll post up sheet when I get a chance.

I can't wait to see the curve on it. Also was it falling off when the tuner came off the throttle or was it still building power? Everything I've seen from TVS says these new roots blowers are not supposed to fall off like other PD blowers.

Holy siht that kind of dyno sheet on a roots with belt slip... yeah I need to go Tork Tech for my 2V so I can eventually run one of these. Get that belt slip figured out and watch it scream past 7k.

Yeah man I'm loving it, this little TVS is mean! I'm thinking of running a green belt and either a full billetflow idler set or a Thump Racing adjustable tensioner . Right now I just have a BF 100mm upper idler
