01' Cobra headers

Anyone here have a 99 or 01 Cobra with aftermarket headers? I'm trying to decide if it will make a big difference in sound.

It will. I have the pacesetters longtubes from summit racing along with their o/r x with cutouts. All three inch into super 44s. I love the sound loud, raspy and deep all rolled into one. Deff worth getting. You'll need a tune as well. I have $400 into the Lt and x from summit. They've served me well since 2010 I bought them cuz I've met people with that brand and they said there's no real difference between other brands that are painted compared to pacesetters. I didn't wanna shell out $600+ for just the headers and then another $200+ for a mid pipe.

Hmm. I'm just wondering because I was thinking maybe I just needed a new set of axel backs. The flow masters I have are very quiet even at idol

Yeah I'm positive that's what they are now. I'm gonna try headers hopefully it will make it louder. Should I go new or used?

New. Unless you come across a deal on another brand like kooks, bbk or something. But all the styles of pacesetters are still cheaper than all the other brands. You'll prolly want to modify the stock mid pipe or have one made with your old converters to save money.

Nice, I would prefer shorty headers though for emissions and clearance issues. Would new headers give me the sound or would an x pipe do it with stock headers?

Yea it will but not as loud without the Lt's. Don't waste your money on shorties they flow as much as your factory manifolds

I've been told you could if you keep the four cats in it along with the egr system. But I don't know first hand the two states I live in we don't emission gas vehicles just diesels. Check the Ca requirements to pass and see what people in your area are doing.

So I've decided after doing some research I'm gonna go with slp shotgun resonators. Just bought em today. My cowl hood from am comes Monday, I can't wait to have it painted and installed.
Next I think I'm gonna add the gt side scoops to replace the stock 01 cobra side scoops. And I'll also add a mach 1 chin spoiler to the cobra bumper.

Slp resonators sound nice, not too loud not too quiet. You can hear the cams nicely
