The older ones like a 96 have lower milage and are taken care of a bit more. The 99-02 have more milage and usually only have a exhaust on it.

A good 96-98 Cobra can be had for $5-$8 grand. The 99-02 Cobras have an interesting story on changes to powerplant, slight changes year by year. Prices are increased there more.
The SN95 & The NewEdge Cobras have body changes that make or brake most peoples decision.

Considering there are no 2000 or 2002 cobras in us you might have a hard time finding one. I would avoid 99/01 because of the irs. 96-98 is a good starting point. Gears really wake them up. 94-95 have the pushrod 5.0 which has as much potential as you do money.

Sent from my massive johnson.

If I could have any of them, 94/95 all the way like my old white one was. 5.0 is stupid easy to work on, stupid cheap, tons of bottom end. Only issue with them is if you live in a state that requires a sniffer for non OBDII vehicles like NJ does. Which is one reason I have a modular now...
