97 Cobra Using oil

My 97 cobra has 138,000 miles and has recently started using a little oil, motor has never been rebuilt. It's not leaking from anywhere and when you first start it up and drive it for about 10 minutes you can smell it burning but then the smell goes away. Any tips on what I may need to do? I was thinking a motor rebuild but does anyone know about how much that would cost me? Thank you for the help

First off, all 96-98 (All SN95 Cobra's) need a separator/filter catch can put in line of pcv system.
Mine catches a quart worth over a few months. After installing the catch can, i induced some Seafoam into vacuum line to intake and it was completely clean.
I whole heartily think that a new pcv valve and in-line separator catch can would be needed to continue troubleshooting moving forward.

$100.00 or so. The install is so extremely easy, all parts are included. Took me 15-30 minutes to install because 2 small holes had to be drilled into plastic firewall. I bought mine from Leathal Performance, LINK:Steeda Oil Separator Kit - Oil Separators - Engine - 1996-1998 - Ford SVT Cobra - Vehicle Selector - Shop Now
-Alot of people purchase parts at Home Depot and make their own. I bought the Steeda kit myself.

No problem.
Check These Out-
*
This one is most impressive, if it functions as advertised:
LINK:HEMI Air Oil Separator By Arrington Performance - shopHEMI.com
OR
-Build Your Own For $15.00- Will work just fine, maybe not as long due to excessive heat. Home Depot does have metal bodies, better quality too.
LINK:Husky 1/4 in. Air Compressor Filter-HDA70403AV at The Home Depot
*
-Mishimoto has a nice affordable one and a $350.00 one. I think it's on sale, looks sharp. LINK:Black Oil Catch Can, by Mishimoto
-A company called RX Performance make a high volume unit that can be customized 20 ways and costs about the same as a house down payment.
