New svt owner. Looking for imrc delete answers.

So ladies and gents i bought a 96 mystichrome in amazing shape. Has its flaws though. One of them is the infamous imrc. Dtc says that it is stuck closed.

Now for the questions.

How bad is this hurting the performance of the car?

What is the best option to fix this? Delete plates?
Modifying the stock ones?
And if i delete this, is it something i can get a bama tune for?

Thats all i have for now, ill post more as i go along. But here are some pics of the beauty. Click image for larger version

Your secondary runners are likely gummed up like crazy along with the IMRCs. The 96-98 B headed setup uses a really dumb split port intake setup and an air/fuel mix only runs through the primary port. The secondary is air only so no fuel to clean off the runner as it goes by and it cakes up with soot/crud really fast. Especially with the EGR still in place.

I'd delete the IMRC setup with the delete plates and get a good tune to compensate for it. I'd recommend MPT as they are an actual datalogged tune vs a canned tune that you'll get with bama or steeda.

Also clean the intake like crazy while it is off to do the IMRC removal and clean what you can on the head. Then you'll probably want to seafoam it. I don't like seafoam, but its kind of required every 8-10k miles on a 96-98 Cobra because of the intake runners I mentioned.

So I just bought a 96 svt cobra , but I was wondering how I could know what number is the car, or where would it have it displayed since I don't have the svt certificates?? Anyone can help and tell me how I can find out??

You can call SVT and provide your VIN. You will need to buy the $50 certificates, they won't just tell you your number. Kind of asshattish but it is what it is. The certs are cool to have anyway.
