Opinions on the 99 cobra

Need an opinion on a cobra. Should I get it. Unfortunately don't have any pics but it has 124k miles & in good condition. 10,900 for it. Yes or no ?

Not that I need it but what would be a good website to get 99-01 cobra parts. Headlights, bumpers, hoods etc.

What world is that seller living in...that is way too high for a 99 cobra with +100k miles.

Definitely do not pay that, hell I paid 10k for my 04 Mach 1 with 58k miles! Aside from some minor scratches, a worn chin spoiler and some hideous head/tail light it's a solid car.

Also, a lot of engine/drivetrain parts that work are listed under 99/01 cobra and 03/04 mach 1. Most exterior/interior mods are shared by all trims.

Latemodel Restoration, American Muscle, Stangmods, CJ Pony Parts, Lethal Performance, Brothers Performance, to name a few all have mods for 99/01 cobras.

I'd check on KB for a starting value then go on eBay and Craigslist to see what they are selling for.
For mods nearly every tuner/aftermarket shop will offer stuff for it. Personally, I get all my stuff from blow by racing in boca raton, fl (Miami metropolitan area). The sales people are very nice and informative about muscle cars (mustang especially). They can also give tips and recommended mods for your car on appearance appeal and performance increases. Getting everything for my Roush there.

I've found that KBB prices are often inflated, both trade in and suggest retail. Nada Guides tends to be a bit more accurate but as said checking craigslist and doing local searches will help give you a better idea of what similar cars in your area are bringing.

On a side note, damn Recon that is one impressive collection! Would love to see some progress pics of that 70 T/A

I give current progress..
New trunk
Full driver quarter panel
Passenger panel skin
Both front quarter panels
Tail light housing has been replaced
Passenger rear floor pan section
Car is converted back to a manual trans car. (The idiot that had it put an auto in it)
Found an original T/A hood (very special and one year only 2500 made)
Bought two flow master T/A mufflers
Have pre-bent correct T/A exhaust and T/A exhaust tips (made for this car alone)
Car is getting a fresh interior black with buckets and an unrestored perfect hurst pistol grip shifter and wood grain steering wheel
Have a rallye dash for it with a correct T/A 8,000rpm tach ( T/A Exclusive)
Searching for correct T/A wheels 15 rallyes (standard where 14)
Already have dual front spoilers waiting to be installed
T/A ducktail spoiler is on its way
Have lower exhaust panel (can't remember proper name but rear end challengers had body cut outs for exhaust tips T/A had them filled in since cars had side exhaust)
engine is unmolested 340 six pack had a factory aluminum high rise intake form elderbrock with Chrysler name stamped on it
3 two barrel carburetors than make 1050cfm (factory)
That's all I can think of now. Here is what it will look like finished

Wow, that car is going to be period correct right down to the dime, sooo sick.

You'd have a field day at the Iola Car Show/Swap Meet up here every July. Years ago my dad and I spotted a 71 R/T needing a full body up resto. Just for sh*ts we walked the swap meet for another hour or so and damn near found every piece (some resto mod and original) needed to get the car on the pavement.

Unfortunately the car will not be as original as I would like it. We could tell the car was drag raced at some point in its life. Like most classics the car was neglected and need a lot of work. considering back then no one knew what the cars would be worth what they are today so they where treated like a turd. I'm trying to do most of the work myself with some extra helping hands periodically. It's getting prepared for paint right now. I have nearly every part that I need to finish it. I haven't driven the car for over 5 years and I want to very soon. If all goes according to plan it should be done by August. Then again I'm going through some health issues so the car might be put on hold again.

Opinions on the 99 cobra

Yes currently I have nearly $25,000 in it with no paint interior or wheels (wheels alone are stupid exspensive) with body needing several hours of labour (est. 6 hours) to get straight panels and some minor rust repair in the doors. I don't paint but luckily my go to guy will work with me on a price and payment plans. Very thankful for the car to be stored in his shop for nearly 5 years. Which I've been criticized on this cite about my other cars (not much) that aren't ford. I'm a car guy, I have no loyalty to any car brand. I like them all, I think you can tell. If I had more money the collection would be bigger and more verity. I'd love to find a 71 javelin amx 401 4spd or a 70 Buick GSX 455 stage 1 4spd or an ISO grifo. I better stop now...

$11k for 124,000 miles on a 99 Cobra? Is he including 6 months worth of free handjobs? That's a $6k car in good shape.

Depends on if it's modded.

I'd rather stock, unmolested and low miles vs "mods" and higher miles. Learned a long time ago that modded cars will ALWAYS have 1 or 2 things that will have you shaking your head and wondering what else the PO did that you might not like. Even super nice ones.
