99-01 Cobra Tail lights question (hope this is right section)

I have been looking at tail lights that I want to put on my 99 Cobra. only problem is EVERY set I want excludes the 99-01 Cobra. im assuming its because of the amber turn signals. is there a way to "convert" it to the normal tail lights? or a way to make the aftermarkets work on my 99? I really want to put the sequential turn signals too but those are also excluded from the 99-01. any help is much appreciated.

I'd suggest PMing one of the AM reps and getting their input. Heck they might offer it for your car, or at least point you in the right direction.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

If you convert your 99/01 tails to "regular" you may have a Cobra lynch mob show up at your house.

Your wiring is different and those tails are rare as hell. You take them off and it takes away from your car being a 99/01 Cobra IMO but its your car... plus side is you can sell them for like $400...

i have thought about that. i figured the wiring was different, tho i didnt know how rare they were. i was looking for a "reversible" method lol like a plug an play thing, where i just hooked up some "adapter" that way if i wanted to revert back to the stocks i could. its something i have to consider now. i may just find smoked covers. that way i dont "ruin" them.

After finding out how rare they are i may just leave em be. (doesnt mean i cant change headlights right? i found a set i really like called "Eagle Eyes")

You have to watch, I have not found a New Edge aftermarket headlight that does not suck except for maybe the AM stock replacement ones.

The AM "OEM" replacement smoked ones are pretty good surprisingly, they came with my 2000 and they look good.

The BEST smoked light though, is going to be a simple 01-04 OEM headlight. Superior quality, perfect fit and looks great. You can always bake them open and have whatever you want installed. Lots of retrofitters out there to do a correct HID retrofit and halos or whatever you want. Just do NOT use hidguy.

To convert back , you'll need to customize your wiring to work with the non cobra harness , get a different turn signal relay , etc.

Just a hard time to change it ..
I would just not waste my time if I were you unless you wanted to do the opposite.

Like others have said, you would need to switch up the wiring harnesses. Not hard, just time consuming - parts are readily available too.

I would also stick with a "OEM-looking" tail light housing.

PM me when you choose on a style you like and I will buy your stock housings from you.
