washed, Clay'd, Polished, Waxed, Scrubbed, Coated

Figured I have two sunny days with nothing to do it was time to bust out the good old fashioned *** kicking on mother nature. This is my baby and my daily driver so I come across all kinds of crap from brake dust, to natures finest. I will post pictures up of my before and after, and the materials used. If you have any questions I am here to answer them

Here are my weapons of choice

Here is the dirty beast as she lies

And a simple shot of all the swirl marks that I will be getting rid of

Re: washed, Clay'd, Polished, Waxed, Scrubbed, Coated

the sponge I use on my seats spec.. im weird when it comes to the seats haha.. i have a microfiber mit that i use its in the bucket outside haha

and the one thing people dont realize... when you drop a mit, sponge, rag... or whatever you use on the ground... THROW IT AWAY! it will pick up the smallest of rocks and as you go through and wash your car over n over again... bam... swirl marks. this is the first time i'll get to detail it since ive owned her... so yeah watch this time next year when its nowhere near as bad!

Re: washed, Clay'd, Polished, Waxed, Scrubbed, Coated

I need to take my seats out and clean em good... such a pain.

i use 100% terry cotton (buy at a store like bath towels for better quality, the edges are usually not cotton) for cleaning then microfiber for buffing. Alternate how you wipe the car (clockwise/counter clockwise) every other cleaning.

You can get micromaring from microfiber and keep in mind there are MANY types of microfiber~ so you can pick one that works for you. I dont pay to much attention to types i just down grade them from paint to rims to other dirty stuff to the trash~ etc

I use only one product to shine, protect my paint and it also protects my trim, rims, windows, etc so its all in one and does it all very good. DWG International™ - Manufacturer of Dri Wash 'n Guard®

3m rubbing compound (clear coat safe) is great for spots that dont come out with normal cleaning.

Every now and then (yearly if DD) its good to buff the car over (not cut the paint just clean it up) but I dont like buffing so I get someone I know to handle it.

In between applications of the stuff from dwgint.com I use meguiars quick detailer as my car never gets more than dust on it and if it does I then use dwgint.com stuff.

Simple green in the fender wells and such, works very good.

megauirs cleaner for leather but im sure there are better options, no paste it gets all in the cracks.

Re: washed, Clay'd, Polished, Waxed, Scrubbed, Coated

I never do a circular motion in washing, waxing or when using instant detailer. I would rather work on a straight micromaring issue than a swirl. Also alot of people dont use the sheeting method when washing and rinsing which helps reduce drying time and waterspots.

Since the purchase of the 2011 (4th black one) I have stopped with the california duster and instant detailer.Instead I rinse with water to get every spec of dust off.Only time I use the instant detailer is after it is washed and dried.

The clay bar removes all the old wax as well. If you want your paint to be protected you must rewax it after claying.

Yah no kidding...me too, I have a bike and a rwd sports car...I belong in the southern part of the country.

I don't do anything during winter anymore, I used to snowboard but really don't anymore because broken bones don't pay the bills...not that a motorcycle crash is a walk in the park lol.

The 3 beer distributors here are always hiring and if you have a good work ethic and tough it out there is always room for growth. We just fired 4 and hired 4 yesterday.
