Sooo do you have to sand or scuff what you are going to spray with this stuff??? Or does it just stick and hold?

Re: Painting Plastic Parts

No sanding, just make sure its nice and clean and do lots of light passes while letting fully dry in between those light passes.

First of all that stuff is super easy and works great. Good info guys. Did my rear faux gas cap and love it. For anyone with a matte blackout panel the can from home depot matches it perfect.

so i'm going to home depot tomorrow, i've come to the decision that i'm going to plasti-dip my door lock pins, a/c knobs, and armrests red to match my car. maybe if i can find a way, i'm goning to paint the emergency brake release button red too (everybody wants a red button on their car, right?). i'm also considering plasti-dipping the grille in order to black out both the pony and the corral. my question is though, should i spray the whole grille to make sure the color is same throughout or should i just do the silver plastic parts?

I would do the whole grill so it's all the same. It also saves having to mask it off.

Very cool with the plastidip. Bet this would be good for brake calipers.

Anyone ever try to re do the leather on their steering wheel?

The can I bought was spray but they also had a dip can that you might be able to brush. To be honest I don't know how it would look because it comes out kinda textured.

Re: Painting Plastic Parts

Ok, here it is... not sure I like the all black, but was fun and cheap project to enjoy on my day off today. I will ultimately get some new chrome rims, or used from craigslist, but had to fix the pool heater this last week for $500 and that shot the budget for now.

yeah i know, I just don't feel like buying one cuz i don't think ill want it forever. Plastic dip is really cheap so I was just curious cuz then i could just have sprayed it on and when i got bored power washed if off.
