Vinyl Decals

My car came with the Vinyl decals on it, they are black matt. When I wax my car do I just wax over them? Or do I work around them? Never had vinyls on pain before.

Re: Vinyl Decals

yep you can wax it, just be careful around the edges because you can get buildup, also if you start to hit the edge with it you can start to pull up the edges of your vinyl slightly which sucks cuz then it starts to look like crap.

Re: Vinyl Decals

There is special Vinyl wax out there not sure if you really need it or not but I was told to wax up to the Vinyl with normal wax and use the vinyl on the vinyl as the normal wax won't let the vinyl breathe, and this could be a problem later on

Re: Vinyl Decals

just watch around the edges you could get that white build up and that really looks bad.

Re: Vinyl Decals

Easiest to just work around them, then you dont have to worry about premature fading, buildup around the edges, etc.

Re: Vinyl Decals

This actually a very common area of confusion for all the 'modern muscle cars' since GM, Dodge, and Ford are all doing matte accent stripes in some of their packages. I probably answer questions about this a dozen or more times a week... heres a video I put together with the help of some Camaros this weekend. The process will be the same for you guys obviously:
