Quick Cleaning

I have a black mustang which is my DD and is kept outside due to my lack of a garage. So my question is, what should I do to quickly remove stuff from the car in between washes (i.e. bird crap!)? Should I just rinse and dry, or should I buy some sort of quick detailer? I don't really have time to wash the car during the week, but I want to keep the car somewhat maintained.

Re: Quick Cleaning

if the car is detailed regularly and has a good coat of wax etc you can use quick detailer to remove little things like that.

Being a black car it is impossible to take care of and daily drive it... so you just have to do your best. Try to avoid swirl marks and all that crap from cleaning to much as well as water spots from using non filtered water.

Re: Quick Cleaning

Ya if the car is regularly maintained - washed and waxed, then a quick detailer or waterless wash should be fine.

I'd also try and touch your car as little as possible...swirl marks and surface scratches are really easy to see and can be caused by cloths/towels/applicator pads.

I've started blowing my car off with a leaf blower. It has worked pretty damn good and I don't have to touch the car. It's basically like a mini version of the big blowers at the car wash. Just make sure you keep the blower clean and don't set it down in rocks or dirt while it is running or shutting off. The fan will suck that crap up and blow it out on your car the next time you turn it on.

Thanks for the good info! This car looks amazing right after it's cleaned, but maintaining a black car is harder than I thought lol. I wouldn't have it any other way though.
