Interior LEDs

What u think about red LEDs light in the interior of the car. My car is black and interior black leather. Not to many LEDs to make the car bright but jut enough to see them.

Just go to your local car toys and pick up a plug in set for either $20 for one color or $40 for any. Then you can splice it through your headlights. Easiest install and cheapest mod I've done for that good of an outcome

NO. Buying them from auto stores is shooting yourself in the foot! They give you about 18" for $20!!!! I went on amazon and they have 5 meters(16.9 feet) for $19 and it's waterproofed as well. Pick any color you want. Then buy your switch at radio shack and wire it up. Power to your interior fuse box and don't waste you're money on fuses at a local auto place TRUST ME! I have one picture of my LEDs on my profile! In the picture all that is, is 9inches of LED under my steering wheel near my pedals.

Well for that $20 I've been satisfied for 2 years. Haven't done me wrong and look great. But I do get your point

I used to have a ton of red led's and neons. Turns out the cops (even in Iowa) don't appreciate any red lighting visible from the front of the car. Just a heads up.

Yeah I know, will get a ticket here in California driving with the interior lights on. Im putting a on and off switch in the center top console( I'm deleting the 12 v) when I want my lights on I just push the button and lights on or off. On my other car I had them direct so they will be on all night while driving.
This way if cops are hot I could easily have them off
I bought the led lights that are individual so I could do a more clean set up, not that. Visible when lights off but it's going to take more work. I'll post some pic tomorrow of the stuff I have already bought

Sounds cool. Don't forget there's other ways to contribute to interior glow... I've got a legend lime, so I did my interior in ultra violet. I've got violet neons in the footwells, violet led domes, MyColor set to violet, and a triple pillar of GlowShift gauges that I have set to violet as well. (I did an led on my license plate light too.) and green screen, violet buttons on my head unit.

It's a nice effect, especially at night. Although I've been trying to think of another spot or 2 to led inside.

Anyway, post pics- the red and black will be sick

They sell it everywhere such as autozone ... But if u buy from a shop it could be pretty expensive...

I bought mine on eBay. It's way cheaper than stores. They sell it by the foot. Shop by different sellers to get a good price. I have a heat gun so makes the installation much easier.
You got to remember to clean the surface with alcohol to remove any oils. Once clean just peel it on carefully and cut the excess area with a blade. If u have a head gun or hair drier pass it over the plastic and it will stick much better. It's not required but helps.

Yeah I got the wrap... In my opinion it looks way better than the real stick on. I just to have the real stick on on my other car and I like the final look better on the wrap and also way cheaper

I'm almost done, drilled holes to insert the single LEDs in different locations. Ran all cables. Having trouble with the switch. switch not working not sure if it's my wiring or the switch itself. Going to replace the switch if that's the issues... Hopefully in a few hrs I'll be done

Make sure theyre all grounded. And make sure you didnt burst the lights. What kind of singles are they? Did you cut them and solder them together with wire? Or use resistors and all that

Haha I was going crazy trying to figure out why they wouldn't work. I required everything with new cables just to make sure. Tested them out with a 9 v battery and they worked. But once installed them to the car power no luck. I figure it out what I though was the positive cable was the negative one...
Will post up some pic later tonight when it's dark and off work...
It should look good I think

These are the light I installed. In the back I got two single LEDs one facing each side. Lights drilled inside the center console for a cleaner look. They throw just the perfect light, not to bright, just enough to see them. On the center it gets to reflect on the water bottle for a nice effect.
I have the ones for the footrest but I need to put them in place

You could wire then with your head lights, only problem if at night u want to turn them off u can't unless u connect then to your fog lights.
I myself put a switch in the center console to turn them off or on. To make things easier for me I used the wires to the 12 V wires( cigaret hole) forgot the name lol.
