Plasti dip stripes?!?

Ok i have a candy red 2011 mustang and my whole theme is black and red i want to put 2 black stripes down the middle but i wanna do it i dont wanna pay a shop 850 bucks to do what i can do in my garage with a couple cans of plasti dip lol, i just wanted to know some good dimensions, ie the gap between the 2 and the width of the stripes themselves to use so they look good, want it to look something like this \/ thanks in advance

Your not doing what a body shop can do with a couple cans of plastidip, your stripes only look good at what the 10-15 foot mark. If you want your car to look good at the very least buy some vinyl stripes

I beg to differ I covered the 500$ paint job I had done with a 5$ can of plastidip cuz the paint was chipping away and I get more compliments now then I did before

Your lack of ability to choose a quality paint shop does not count as a valid argument for plastidip

My paint job looks fine but instead of buying taillight covers or taking my bumper cover to a paint shop I spent twelve bucks on Plasti-dip, tape and paper and my rear looks awesome IMO

uh say to each their own. i personally like the plasti dip for a diy,er who does not have the money b to paint or three know how. if you med it up Pull it off start over. i am a painter for a living so for me i can pull my car into the garage and go to town. but not as much leeway a plasti dip.

If you mess up just peel it off and start over. It comes off that easy

I used it for the first time over the weekend. I sprayed too close and it ran so I tried to fix and it looked worse. So I had to start over. Also when your peeling the tape off be careful not to pull up the stripe

I did the Mach1 style rear deck lid with plasti-dip. And as practice before I did my car, I dipped 2 stripes on my buddy's primered '94 Civic. Took a total of 25 mins from measuring, to taping, to spraying, an pulling tape. Lol. Oh yeah; I dipped my rims too but left a chrome lip. My best advice would be 1st coat light, three heavy coats after. You don't wait until its fully dry to start the next coat. And immediately after the final coat you should pull the tape. If you pull the tape while the dip is still wet then it won't come off with the tape.
