Re: Engine compartment detailing

here's the simple way to do it....get a hose and bottle of simple green (or mean green)

-start car and run for 15 minutes
-turn car off and pop hood...cover the electricals with foil or a couple plastic bags (won't melt because the car's not that hot)
-spray the engine down with water then coat everything with your bottle of degreaser (don't hold back)
-close hood but don't latch it...let it sit for 15 minute
-pop open hood then spray it down again
-now for the stuff that still lingers just respray with degreaser and take a scrub brush to it
-wash off one final time then wipe everything down with towels..this'll get the water out of any pockets
-now finish it off with some F21 (it's in a green bottle) on all the rubber hoses and lines for that long lasting like new look, plus it keeps them cleaner longer. pull off the stuff you have covering the electricals and wipe them down by hand

and you're done...it's about a 45 minute process depending on how long you take in the final detail work, but it's worth it..
