Saleen decals?

So I was wondering what you guys thought of putting saleen decals on my 3.7. I definitely am going to get the stripe kitbut what are you alls thoughts on saleen across the front windshield I know I know it's not a saleen but I still think it would look good. This is a legit question so please no hate if you don't have anything helpful to say then just don't say it.

Re: Saleen decals?

Ya not into that idea at all. If it were the real deal I would say go for it. If you are looking for a windshield decal that is cool if that is what you like but out of respect for the real deal I would never put Saleen, Shelby, Roush etc. badging on my car. If you were looking to do something similar to the stripes or something along those lines I think that is fine like Saleen-ish stripe designs... Just dont have it say "SALEEN" if it isnt the real deal. Just not cool IMO.

My thoughts is, of it's not a saleen don't do it.
It's like trying to badge up, like a v6 with GT badging. It's a respect thing to me.
Now if you have a custom thing mad for yourself then that's cool, like saleen six. Or something like that.
I've heard of someone custom making some
Super
Six
Badges with the cobra snake in the middle, but the fact is, is it clearly stated it was a v6.

Yea I would suggest to stay away from misbadging, only exception I would really make is if you have like a saleen full kit and do like the person above said saleen six

Why stop at Saleen? Why not put Lamborghini on there, if you're gonna mislabel it why not go to the top?

Re: Saleen decals?

If you are a person that gets your Mod's from American Muscle you can put their windshield decal on your Mustang. It looks great and it does say the right words.

Um, I put the 5.0 badges on the fenders of my v6. And I love the look, so i don't see why you couldn't put saleen on your v6 windshield...

Just kidding...Don't do it.

I put the Ferrari decals on my V6 MCA

Of course I added all of the other stuff to make it look like a Ferrari.

Big Wheels, A Super Charger, A Wing, A nice hood ornament, under car lighting and of course my Ferrari decals.

I probably could go for a Saleen or Cobra windshield decal on it but then it would not be a Ferrari.

you can have saleen style stripes, but don't go with the badge.
my car screams boss 302, but I don't have boss written on their, because my car isn't a boss.

IMO, putting saleen on there would be like putting GT emblems on a v6.
which, unfortunately, i've seen before.

NicholasP we are just having fun with your post. I would do whatever you want to do as it is your car. That said the Saleen Six or Super Six or something like that idea is a in my opinion better. Could also make a Roush RS as they are sixxers..

I've got RTR parts on my GT but I don't badge it RTR. Hell, I've got no badges whatsoever on my mustang! But that's how I like it. I think the Saleen decals would look cool but I wouldn't do a windshield banner. That's just my preference.

I've got a 11' 5.0, and I would feel like crap if I put Saleen decals on and pulled up to someone with a real 1994 Saleen even. For this forum, Steve Saleen is to be honored like he was our general. This forum is a fraternity of mustang lovers, and that is going against the code. With that being said. I'd put SMS on a razor scooter.

Are you talking about the fader stripes that came on the Saleen/Speedlab cars or the fender stripes that came on the Saleen/SMS cars?

The 2011 Saleen/Speedlab cars (at least most of them) didn't have door stripes... The only one I've seen with the faders on the doors was the Sema car. On my 2011, it has very small faders that are located on the ground effects. They wouldn't be very visible on your car, you barely see them on my car...

If you are going to fake a Saleen, at least put #06 on the bumper...

And to Nicholas.. I think if you are going to make a fake Saleen six then go for it but you gotta have just about everything (body kit, wheels, etc..) And like tfalk said, throw the #6 on their to signify it's a fake. But if you just want to throw on some decals like the rocker stripes then I say yes but just don't have Saleen on their. As much as I love that Saleen decklid I just can't bring myself to get it.
