If you enjoy blinding other drivers they will work perfect.

I dont know why everyones a ***** about hids, if you angle them lower than stock then they work great for you and dont blind oncoming traffic. You almost have to get hids to get good light output with smoked lights

I was told by a cop a few weeks ago when he was writing me a speeding ticket....cops don't care about smoked out lights, what pi$$es them off is when people have the HIDs that blind everyone.
So I rock my smoked halo heads without HIDs

because they are illegal and scatter light if the housings are not properly retrofitted

These are what I run. I've only driven at night 1 time since I has them installed 2 weeks ago. And it was under city lights, so I don't know how dim they are and if I need to upgrade the bulbs.
I bought the bulb upgrade, I just didn't wanna go to an hid kit and melt my housings

I think HIDS are a must with smoked headlights.
Its very hard to see with stock headlights through smoked lights

What does a typical HID kit run for? I don't wanna get anything that will let off ALOT of heat.

35% is legal here. That is what i have on all my cars. All of my cars pass the yearly inspection with no problems.
I just hate being blinded by morons who want cool looking headlights.

Maybe you shouldn't get dark smoke headlights if you can't see instead of compromising the vision of other drivers on the road.

I bought my girlfriend smoked lights for her 02 mustang and she can bearly see at night, mine are perfect not to bright and like said above you can adjust the height. I get so tired of people bi!ching about them being illegal well so are alot of thing like pipes with no cats like everyone runs and long tubes/ tint/smoked headlights and tail lights front tint strip. I have never heard of anyone around here getting pulled over or ticketed for HIDS.
Now I agree like the 10000k lights are dumb but I think the 6000k are perfect for smoked headlights and even the 8000k isn't bad.

That's why the lights I have have a lightly smoked lens with a blacked out bucket. Give it a much deeper smoked look without having a dark lens

Your pictures are not helping your cause. Pull 20' from garage door or wall and take a picture of the scattered light. Compare to a true hid setup.

Again it's my car and I wanted smoked headlights and I couldn't see well so I bought HIDS which I am very happy with. You act like if you don't like them then its wrong. EVERY HID thread you complain about the same stuff over and over, idk why you are so butt hurt over this topic. It's my car and I did what I wanted to it the OP wants info on them with smoked headlights so it seems he likes them too everyone has different taste.

So your vision is more important than everyone else? It's like the one person who insists on running high beams all the time, as long as they can see it doesn't matter.

I never said that I bought HIDS so I could see and now I can see better and I aim them down so no one else has a problem with them either.
I have never had a issue with blinding on coming traffic.

i've run HIDs both 35w and 55w on every vehicle i've ever owned...i've been pulled over for many things and cops have never once mentioned my lights. if you can use a screwdriver you can aim the light decently enough. in fact i don't remember ever being flashed. here's the kits i run...i've tried ebay and vvme and i'm not satisfied with them. DDM all the way for me.

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

btw here's my cutoff...not bad for HIDs in stock housings if i do say so myself..

to answer your question btw op for your housings i'd go with the 55w setup...35w will be ok, but to really push through the smoked lenses i used 55w on my old car..

as for lifespan i've never had to replace a blown bulb.

and yes i know they are illegal...but then again not many good mods are...catless exhaust, dark tint, tinted head or tail lights...just to name a few

Was looking at them. Lots of different options there. It's all Chinese to me. First time I've ever considered running HIDs. So I don't really know what I'm looking at.

Was looking at them. Lots of different options there. It's all Chinese to me. First time I've ever considered running HIDs. So I don't really know what I'm looking at.
bulb number is straight forward...color temp is up to you...i stick to the 5-6k range because i like to keep the light a nice white with a tinge of blue. 35w or 55w is up to you...if you have smoked or tinted housings 55w is your friend. in fact i'm about to go back to 55w and get the hi/lo kit.

speaking of when you decide on bulb there's the bulb number then theres the same bulb number with hi/lo next to it...it's literally the option to have both a high and low beam. if you don't buy the one listed that way it's just a low beam. which is fine btw...i haven't had a high beam in 2ish years. you only need whats in the kit...so don't order the error eliminators or other harnesses

if you have other questions feel free to pm me.

Those are pretty inexpensive. I have seen other kits upwards of $1,000
