I personally like the Ford Racing shifter on AM, looks much more finished, at least in the 94-04 models.

Sickspeed.com also has most of the same shift knobs . They seem to have a lower price .

I have a simple white ball with the shift pattern.

My only issue with it is hand pain after a day at the strip, have debated swapping to a t handle for track duty, would be nice to incorporate the linelock into it.

There are options out there for autos, ill try and get a pic of the one on the gt. It's an original mgw knob, very few left.

No pics here but I finally found a long handled shifter handle and knob I love. found it at UPR. I dont have to reach forward to shift into 3d or 5th gear. Also, deleted the shift patern as common with newbies. Yep, if you dong know stick, stick with automatic. no pattern. New wave.

I do it more to remind myself...i drive so many different vehicles it gets confusing. Regularly try to leave stop lights in reverse in the f250 and have been known to shift 5 speed cars into "6th" gear....

I'm trying to maybe deal away with the ball cause that's what I got now but it's MGW shift knob off their website that's got the "GT" logo engraved into. I was looking for something different than the ball but I don't want like a pistol grip or something so idk lol..

Also, did it scalding hot in the summer time? I live in Missouri so summers get super hot and winters get super cold. Sucks even on my shift knob I have in it now and it's partly plastic with barely any metal.

I had a billet aluminum knob on my Camaro, and living in the SW it got so hot I could barely touch it so I always kept a sock in the car for those days LoL

The results are in! The EPCO shifter is supper light (I will get the actual grams later). It is way lighter than the stock GT standard shift knob. I thought that Heaney would be better but found that the light version shifter is gives a Lexus's complex and more natural feel.

The combination of the MGW shifter and their authorized EPCO version knobs are the perfect combo opinion my point of view. Shifts are noticeably lighter.

I would try one of these. Get one with a rubber strap.

Strap Wrench Set from Sears.com

Also try blowdryer or heat gun if you have it - lightly of course...

I like it. Been off the net for a whole.... I just readjusted that lockout bolt tonight. I suggest to all to drive for 400 - 1000 miles then adjust if necessary from there. I also do not recommend putting on the zip tie ( and probably the bottom heat plate) until you have ensured that the shift set up fits you. I put the boot back on but hope it is sealed from the bottom as it was before. I will go back and check some day soon.
