Hard top

I have an 86 foxbody convertible mustang. I really want it to be my daily and living in Washington a hard top would make it possible. But they didn't make them for my body style. Would it be a good idea to cut the top of a coupe and use that? And ideas or suggestions?

Anybody know if there's a reason? Or just not really a big thing yet?

Why not just spend the money on a good solid convertible top?
