Looks pretty slick! Love the no spoiler look. Wish I had the cash to get it done right on mine. Maybe someday.

Thanks. They welded in discs to fill the holes. I wanted something sturdier than fiberglass. Its impossible to tell there were ever holes there, worth every penny.

Wait a couple weeks until I can wax it and get her in some sunlight! It was overcast today.

Looks badass! Decklid looks really good...glad someone did it right and filled them properly and didn't just leave big nasty holes lol.

One thing I think would really flow nicely with the spoiler delete and the color would be to delete the side scoops...I've seen it on a couple other cars and it looks pretty cool..similar to the bullitt style but without any pronounced edges.

The Bullitt scoops are really nice, you can see that they are there but don't stick out like a sore thumb...

So I took the plunge and took my spoiler off. Looks like crap under there. My roommate has a guy who said he would paint the trunk lid and bumper (gonna buy a gt bumper from craigslist) for $150. If that is legit it would be one hell of a deal.

Sounds like too good a deal. When dealing with someone who is going to work on your car, always check out their other work first. See what else he has painted. If he checks out then I would go for it.

Did they paint the whole car, or just the trunk and hood?

It looks really nice, can't wait to get mine done. I am getting close.

Whole car. Had the passenger rear fender repaired, front fender replaced, spoiler delete, and complete spray. Total cost came to $3,900.00. They had me come check it out yesterday. I covered every square inch of the car looking for any issues. So far I am very pleased with it. Cant wait to pick it up tomorrow and get some pictures.

It looks great. I am doing mine myself with the help of my brother. Just did not have the money to have it done. I also don't need the car right away since it is not my daily driver. It is still going to cost me around 1500.00

Awsome! I had originally planned on my buddy doing it, then I was going to do it myself, then he and I had a falling out and off to the shop she went.

Looks awesome. I have a question, you said they welded up the holes in your trunk. Is the coupe trunk metal? My trunk on my vert in fiberglass.

Thats a good question. Ill have to check. When I dropped it off they said the could weld in a couple discs. Ive never paid attention to what it was made of. Though I will check here in a bit.

Just found out today that none of the 99 thru 04 mustangs have metal trunks. They are fiber reinforced plastic FRP so they could not have welded the holes shut.

You may be correct. I forwarded the process the body shop told me. If they found out it was not then im sure the fiberglassed it. It is an aftermarket trunk, so we will know for sure when I get home and take pictures. Im in the ER with heart problems at the moment, so an argument over a trunk is the least of my concerns.

Looks awesome. What are you gonna do for rims? I'm assuming you aren't keeping those. Looks awesome though I prefer the no spoiler look IMO

Well doctor said I had another mild heart attack. Shame, not even in my late 30's, in great health, run everyday, and eat well. Lifes a turd huh? Stress seems to be the issue. So ill tell my wife another mustang will help ease my stress!

In any case I looked at the underside of the trunk lid. It is indeed fiberglassed in. They must have assumed it was metal during our intitial talks, as did I. More importantly they got the job done and it looks good, no more plugs for me!

Hope you get better soon. Just a couple things about your car. What are the specs on the steel wheels/tire combo you had on there? What did they come off of? Did you have any issues with the fronts rubbing? I may be doing the spoiler delete soon too. Going to try to see if I can get someone with a plain trunk lid, possibly in my same color, to do a swap. Maybe a craigslists ad! Thanks for any info.

The steel wheels are 1998 grand marquis wheels without the hubcaps.
