Good Choice?

Ok so i really want a buffer to get rid of some swirl marks and imperfections for the car show next month, I want a PC 7424 but i know i won't be able to use it when i go to college because i won't have any garage or really anywhere shady/indoor to wash/detail my car, so do y'all think this would be a good option? Don't really want to spend a whole lot, just need something better than hand polishing/waxing.

they are junk...save for a cheaper variable speed..check northern tools website...you can find one there or even Sears to slap a buffing or cutting wheel on

Check WalMart they have a better selection and prices aren't that bad.

Looked at Walmart, and i actually found a pretty sweet deal. The Meguiars DA Power System with 3 different pads and the Ultimate Compound, Polish, and Liquid Wax included. I might have to order this tomorrow.

The Meguiars DA unit seems very small, it will take a long time to do the whole car, and you will most likely not make it on one battery charge.

I have the Meguiars Porter Cable 7424 and use the 7" pads, and it is sweet. Although in the past the Velcro has come off of the pads very easily, so I make sure to not go too fast.

I use a Meg's G110 V2 Dual Action polisher with a 5inch backing plate along with Lake County CCS 6 inch pads and can for a seal r wax I can get my Stang done in less than two hours to perfection. A full detail using Meg's 205 before seal and wax can take up to 8 hours depending on how the paint is. I love using a DA polisher very safe and very effective.
