Badge Holes

Sorry if this is a repeat question, i used search and found plenty of badge removal questions but none about holes left behind.

My car is a 2011 V6 and i want to take the pony emblems off. I did this with my 95 V6 to replace with 232 badges and there were holes left behind in the fender. This wasnt a problem because i bought badges that cover the holes.

However, the 3.7 badges probably wouldn't cover any holes. My question is if anyone with my model year has done this, is there indeed any guide hole(s) underneath the stock pony badges or is it just all adhesive.

Good question. A year ago I was debating the same thing. I heated up the passenger side tri-bar pony badge and got it off to find two guide holes. When I placed the 3.7 badge up on the car it seemed to cover the holes. I went to take the rest of the sticky mess off the car and stupidly was in a big hurry and ended up putting a pretty good sized scratch in the car. I took that as a sign of no 3.7 badges, put 3M auto tape on the tri-bar, and stuck it back on for life.

From what I saw, the correct sized 3.7 badges (The ones for AM) hid the guide holes, but it also scared me that moister could get on the under side of the adhesive. That maybe somebody else would chime in about. Let us know what you deiced on doing!
