Fuel Door

I recently bought American Muscle's MMD Black Billet Alluminum Fuel Door and the first time I washed my vehicle it kind of changed the color of it a little bit. It has a purple/green hue to it in certain light. Anybody have any ideas on that?

I debated on contacting AM about mine also. It turned to a Bronze color so I cleaned it and painted it. The center part is what it looked like before I painted it. The mfg definitely needs to change something.

My daughter is on her second one....takes about 2 weeks in the Arizona sun and they turn bronze. Pretty sure we won't be returning this one, we will take care of it ourselves.

I have the chrome fuel door and the chrome is peeling off. Since I didn't buy it I'm stuck with it. AM is really good about fixing products.

That looks like some oily substance is on there. I assume you have tried cleaning it separately? Try a mild degreaser on a rag.
I recently installed one of these and mine looks perfect.

Yeah, instead of going through the hassle of sending it back, I just plasti dipped it. Good as new!
