Plasti-Dip Rear Axle

I will be the first to admit I know next to nothing about Plasti-Dipping. I just first heard about it out here. With that being said, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried or has info about covering up that rusty rear axle with it?

On a mustang? Cant hardly see the axle. If its for rust cover up though may as well scrub it off and spray it with some good under coating so that it looks good and keeps the rust away
