I looks good in red just more subtle but in black the contrast makes it look sinister!

Okay, looks wicked! Then again, I told you all along that it would. I'm not sure how long the gel coat will hold up comparatively to your paint, but the good thing is you can get it painted anytime. Gel coat usually doesn't like sun exposure and you can't really wax it for UV protection.

Willing to bet anywhere from $275-350. Honestly it's better to buy the hoods with the pre-painted options so that way you get it all done at once with no downtime. Most body shops want to blend the fenders and make more $$$ out of you. Cars this new shouldn't have paint fade that bad yet anyways, but something to look at.

I think the gel coat will last a few months no problems if you keep it out of the sun, BUT If that hood is fiberglass it NEEDS sun otherwise it will get wavy when it is painted. Fiberglass need to flex and cure to its fullest before its painted and most hood companies pull them right out of the molds, coat them, and send them off. That's what has given fiberglass hoods a bad name.

Good luck! Make sure you prep that gel coat right so you don't get cracks in the paint! Can't wait to see it finished
